"Then we'll agree on that then.." Josette said as she leaned into him after feeling a bit better, "Just us for the next four days.."

"Just us," Kane said, "No one else."

Josette didn't even know why she agreed to it, but she needed him. She wanted that connection.

"We're heading to the camp soon so if you want to join me in the river.."

Josette blushed, "For what, Mr. Dempsey?"

"For anything you want."

Josette was thinking about what she wanted when they saw Cecil coming towards them.Kane stepped in front of Josette, keeping her away from Cecil.

"I'm not here to start trouble, but we've got some issues with some of the sisters," Cecil said, "They think if Josette was able to be sensed if they would be, too and can they trust us."

"I'll talk to them," Josette said, emerging from behind Kane, "Do I look as bad as I feel?"

Kane took his hand and placed it on her forehead to heal her.

"How do you feel now?"

"Much better.."

He watched her walk away to tend to her sisters. What was it about her that was so intriguing to him?

"Alright," Cecil said as he and Kane made their way through the caravan, "Let's get everyone into the camp!"

Kane watched Josette and he knew she was watching him. She might not have been the type of woman he was used to going after, but she made him feel something he'd never felt before.

A sense of completion.

"So.." Josette said when Kane made his rounds and ended up beside her once again, "Can you take you up on that offer?"

"The river? Hell yeah you can."

Josette giggled as Kane took her hand and headed down to the river.

"This is a pretty cool spot," Kane said, "Secluded..."

Josette started taking off her boots, "Why? So you can do whatever you please to me?"

Kane smiled, "Most definitely, but we're not going in to the water yet.."

"What? Why?"

Kane smiled, "Because I have something better planned..."

He scooped her up and carried her over the stepping stones in the water and behind the waterfall where a dark cave jutted out from the mountainside.

"I've got us dinner and...something more comfortable to...sit on.."

"Sit on.." Josette giggled, "Sure.."

Kane smiled as he helped her into the cave, "No booze, but I did bring your tea.."

Josette bit her bottom lip as she watched him set up their little dining area. What would she look like swollen with his pups? What would their children look like? Would she be a good mother?

"I think you'd be a good father," Josette blurted out as Kane lit some candles, "I mean..whenever you decide to have children, of course."

"How's that?" Kane studied her face in the flow of the candlelight.

"Do you want children?"

"Hell yeah, I do!" Kane said, "I want a lot of pups. Contrary to what people think, I want to settle down one day with a good woman. I want the whole family life thing. What about you?"

"Yes, I want children..not right now or anything like that.." Josette said, not mentioning she'd completely forgotten to take her tea the night they slept together, "But I would love a big family. I am an only child and it gets quite lonely—I mean, I have my sisters and their families, but it's not the same."

"I know what you mean," Kane said, "So! What do you want first? Crackers, cheese, chocolate...me?"

Josette smiled, her core aching just thinking about what Kane had in store for her that evening.

"Who set this up?" She asked, reaching for a cracker, "You've been at camp the whole time."

"I had Ned do it for me," Kane admitted, "He's also making sure no one disturbs us unless it's an emergency."

Josette nodded, "Thank you. I don't intend to leave my coven for too long, but I did tell Keira she had the reigns for the whole night."

Kane smirked as he poured her some juice, "Good because I told Cecil to do the same."

As much as the two of them wanted to rip each other's clothes off and ravish the hell out of one another, they opted on talking.

"So, your hybrid form isn't good-looking like you?"

Kane scoffed, "All of my forms are good-looking! No, this guy's a beast. I am not the fluffy little red wolf that you've seen around."

"That's you?"

"Yep," Kane said, "That's me. My mother was a red wolf, too."

"Was?"

"My parents aren't around either, little dove, but that's not something I like to talk about..."

"I'm sorry—I thought.."

"No, the people who raised me since I was 13 are my aunt and uncle which is why they don't like me too much," Kane confessed, "Their children are runts and will never be alphas which is why they take a lot of their anger out on me."

"I am so sorry, Kane.." Josette said, placing a hand on his, "I really am—about all of it. What happened? I won't talk about it if you don't want to."

Oddly enough, Kane found peace in talking with Josette, "They were killed by a rogue pack a long time ago, dovey...that's all I know.."

Josette sighed. Both she and Kane had a lot more in common than she thought.

"What's your favorite color?"

Kane chuckled, "Why?"

"I bet it's red."

"How did you know?"

Josette shrugged, "Lucky guess."

"I bet yours is...green."

"How,-"

Kane looked at her dress and her boots and the little bow she had in her hair—all of which was green.

"Lucky guess," he smiled as they continued to ask questions, learning so much that by the time the rain started to fall outside of the cave, they knew it was late.

"I guess we'd better go," Kane said, stretching, "I know you probably don't want to stay out here all night."

Josette started unbuttoning her blouse, one button at a time as Kane watched her with greedy eyes.

"Or we can do something else.." she said, pulling her blouse free and watching as Kane crawled to her.

"I can do something else, little dove, but this time I want to make it so good for you—so very good.."
