"Isn't there some kind of magic you can use to prevent this from happening?" Kazan couldn't care less if this bastard lives or dies. But Leah, though he hates to admit it, cares about his well-being. It also seemed that the guy was giving up his life in exchange to give him power. Therefore, this is enough reason to push him to at least feign concern for the guy.
"Actually yes." Nathaniel grinned slyly. "There is a magical method to fix my situation. But sadly, you are going to be one of the key factors for my rebirth to be successful."
"Rebirth? Are you planning to possess and control my body?" Kazan suddenly became wary of Nathaniel. Why? Well, the guy admitted earlier that the vessel he now possesses is dying. He's dying. This means he might be looking for a new vessel to escape death. And something tells him he's going to be that vessel. Now that he thinks about it, maybe that's the real reason why Nathaniel took him here, wherever here is. However, he won't allow that to happen. Hopefully, he's able to fight this.
"Possess in a sense, yes. Control, no."
"I don't believe you."
"Oh relax, pup." Nathaniel snorted. "I no longer have any desire to take control of your body to form a bond with Leah and make her my woman. Not that it would have helped my situation anyway."
"Ah, so you are planning to take over my body." Not that it matters if he's right about this sick bastard intention. If he's being realistic, there is nothing he could do if Nathaniel decided to take control of him.
Nathaniel takes a deep breath. "For the last time, no. I'm not going to take over your body. I'm just going to let my consciousness hibernate inside it. No big deal, and it will be highly beneficial to you."
"Hibernate—inside my body?" Kazan stuttered. Everything about that statement sounds so wrong.
"Yes. But don't worry, it will be temporary. Once my new vessel is reborn into this world, my consciousness and powers that are now in the final process of melding into your newly reformed genes reconstructed with my original body will automatically transfer to my new vessel."
"New vessel?" Just what kind of freaky experiment is this guy getting him mixed up in? Nothing he would consent to, Kazan concluded. Therefore, it's best not to think about it too much. But if he's being honest, this guy scares him.
"Like you said earlier, I'm sacrificing myself to give you power. In return, you will create a new vessel for me. It's a win-win situation."
"And how exactly do you expect me to do that?" Kazan asked out of curiosity.
"Well, sometime in the future, you and Leah will do what you two do best these days. I will then use the natural process of childbearing to aid me in creating a new vessel." Nathaniel explained to Kazan as if he were a three-year-old.
Is this guy serious? No, he couldn't be serious. But he sounds serious. However, even if Kazan should protest against this unnatural act, there is nothing he can do to put a stop to this crazy guy's wretched scheme. "You couldn't have Leah as your woman, so you've decided to turn her into your mother instead?" Now that he says it out loud, that's very disturbing.
"Believe me. I'm not so thrilled about calling you daddy, either." Nathaniel grouched. "But unfortunately, I have no other choice. Leah is the last female of the Violet Swan Pack, and you, who have been transformed, are connected to her. Thus making you two the perfect candidates to create a vessel strong enough to contain my consciousness and powers. And don't worry. You two and your future children will benefit from this as well. And for your information, I won't need any breast milk. I'll be able to survive on my own once I'm born."
This guy, Nathaniel, is truly shameless and sick in the head. None of this makes logical sense, but again, Kazan has no say on the matter, nor can he do anything to stop it. Nonetheless, this guy's arrogance makes Kazan want to oppose him, even if it's futile. "And what makes you think that I will get Leah pregnant again in the future so that we can have a bastard son like you?"
"As if you have any choice in the matter," Nathaniel scoffed. "My birth is inevitable from the moment we entered the spatial ring. In fact, I put measures and spells in place to ensure that you will aid in making me a new vessel."
"I thought so." Kazan grimaced.
"Anyway, I thought that you should know that every time you use my powers, it will slowly shorten your life span." Normally, vessels just break apart just by containing Nathaniel's powers. However, Nathaniel has transformed Kazan's body so it would be able to contain his powers without any serious repercussions in the future. Using them, on the other hand, will destroy him. This is the consequence nature chooses to use to punish the kid for gaining enormous powers so quickly, and so he must warn the kid. "So don't use them carelessly. You can go die after I'm born if you want, though."
"Is that how you talk to the man who's going to be your future father?" This whole situation is so weird for Kazan. He's being forced into fathering someone who is much older than he is. Not to mention, he hates the guy. This is a damn nightmare.
"That's only if you survive the battle against the top packs." Nathaniel smile. "I literally put my life in your hands, kid. So you better, for the sake of my existence, stay alive, or I'll hunt you down in the afterlife and kill you myself."
"Sure," Kazan chuckled tensely. "Um, can I ask you a question before you go to hell? I mean rest."
"Sure, go ahead." Nathaniel rolled his eyes.
"Why did you put me through all that sh*t earlier if you were already planning to help me anyway?"
"That's easy. It's because it's fun bullying a weak little pup." Nathaniel jeered. His old vessel then started to disappear at a rapid rate. It's time for what left of his consciousness to exit it, so the life in this vessel can be speared and return to its original lifestyle. "Oh, it seems our time is up. I'll see you soon, kiddo."
"That's dad to you." Immediately after, the violet environment gobbled up Kazan, and the next thing he knew, he was inside his bedroom. His clothing was ragged due to what he thought was an attack from Nathaniel earlier. The violet spatial pocket ring was also on his finger.
