That damn Nathaniel! Leah punched a hole into the wall of her hotel suite. Where did he run off with that pup?
Ugh! When she sees that snake again, Leah will definitely give him a proper beatdown. And as for that damn pup, she will strangle him for volunteering to leave with Nathaniel.
Unfortunately, she can't leave here to go search for them right now. The enemy armies have already surrounded the Azure pack from all angles, and for now they aren't attacking. But whenever they decide to begin the invasion, Silvio and his over nine hundred thousand soldiers are here to help out.
Still, that might not be enough to take out the joint army of the Emerald Ace pack and White Clover, which consists of roughly three million strong Lycans, according to the scouts. And things will get worse if and when the other three big packs join with them.
It's definitely going to take some form of miracle to survive this deadly battle that's about to take place.
"Are the enemies attacking already?" Leah turned to acknowledge Ezekiel, who came barging into her room.
"Not yet," Ezekiel answered. "I'm sorry to barge in unannounced, but I'm here to see the sovereign." But to his surprise, Kazan was nowhere in sight. "Where is he?"
"The pup is out doing something important," Leah lied, just to get the smothering little pup off her back. Unfortunately, the kid failed to get the memo.
"Are you telling me that the sovereign has left the pack grounds?" It's bad enough that he's completely stressed out about ensuring the security of the civilian population of the entire pack from the powerful enemies out to annihilate them. (Well, if Ezekiel is being honest, he believes they are all going to die despite all the help Leah and her powerful friends are providing.) Now, he has to worry about the well-being and safety of his stupid sovereign, too. He might just die of hypertension before the enemies get to him.
"Oh, stop overreacting, little pup. I already told you he's out on an important errand, and he'll be back soon." Leah could tell through the bond she shared with the pup that he was still alive. So it's safe to say that Nathaniel didn't kill him. But she is still worried about her pup.
"What is so important that the sovereign would leave the pack during wartime?" Ezekiel wasn't convinced by her statement at all.
"It's a secret."
"You don't know where he is, do you?"
"You know, you are too damn smart for your own good."
"Tell me the truth, where is he?" Ezekiel demanded. And after realizing what he did, "I'm sorry. But I need to know the whereabouts of the sovereign. Please. It is my duty as his second to ensure his safety."
"Alright," Leah scoffed. "Nathaniel took him."
Her response elevated Ezekiel's blood pressure even more. "Is that bastard going to kill him?"
"Of course not." Well, she hopes not.
"I'll send some of our warriors out to go search for him." The panicked Ezekiel suggested, to which Leah replied.
"There is no need. I'm sure Nathaniel will take him back here after he's done with him."
"You don't sound too convinced."
"Princess," Silvio appeared in front of Leah. And with him were two of the sixty generals that serve under him. The two young men kneeled to show Leah respect, and she signaled for them to stand up right afterward. "We have apprehended an arrogant guy from the Emerald Ace pack. He has a message for you and the young sovereign of the Azure pack."
"Where is he now?" Leah assumed this messenger was here to try and persuade, or rather, threaten, Kazan to surrender.
"My men held him prisoner at the palace."
"Hm. Alright. I'll meet with him."
"Wait, what about the sovereign?" Ezekiel asked.
However, Leah ignored him and left for the palace. And the second she arrived there, she was being pestered by the Azure pack higher-ups about Kazan's whereabouts. Ugh, it's like today is annoy Leah day. You know what? She's done being interrogated. Leah used her aura to scare them away from questioning her any further.
Afterward, she went to the throne room. And as soon as Leah sat comfortably on Kazan's throne, she ordered one of the two generals (Avier) that accompanied her there to take the Emerald Ace pack messenger in. A few minutes later, Damon and Avier came marching in.
Leah, of course, felt the urge to kill this guy from the moment she laid eyes on him. You know, payback for hurting Dorian. That is still unconscious, by the way. But first, she needs to hear from this scumbag's own mouth why he's here.
Besides, she doesn't think this sly guy would hand himself over to his powerful enemies without having a way of escaping.
Is he perhaps here to gather intel? Possible.
"Hello again, grandma?" The amused Damon waved at Leah. He then looked about the room for the Azure pack little sovereign, but he wasn't in sight. "Where is that brat sovereign, Kazan?"
"You have five minutes to explain why you are here before I kill you."
"I should have known you were the one wearing the pants around here." Damon laughed, which made the higher-ups feel greatly embarrassed. Normally, the penalty for offending a sovereign is death. But they are powerless to say much or do anything about it. Inside this sea of sharks, they are like sprats.
Immediately after, Avier violently seized Damon's neck. "If you continue to be disrespectful to the princess, I will gut you right here, brat."
"Alright." The smiling Damon held up his hands as a sign of showing he would be on his best behavior. Well, it's not like he has a choice. You see, apart from the small fries of the Azure pack, he doesn't stand a chance against the monsters in this room. Avier, on Silvio's signal, released Damon's throat. "I'm here to make two proposals. Here goes. Proposal number one: surrender yourself to us, princess, or watch this pack burn to the ground."
