A sudden, thunderous, crashing sound disrupted the peaceful night in Azure City. Buildings crumbled like crackers, and thousands of civilians got butchered in seconds due to the incredible shock waves produced from the crash.
Of course, many Azure Pack warriors from near and far rushed to the heart of Azure City, the source of the commotion, to investigate and neutralize whatever or whoever the threat may be. However, they lost their lives before they could even see who or what had infiltrated their territory.
Silvio, along with twenty of his generals, appeared at the scene to protect some of the Azure Pack warriors from getting slaughtered by the twenty young men who managed to get past them a few seconds ago.
This doesn't mean that these enemies are stronger than Silvio's team. It's just that their wind blade technique boosts their speed to a level that Silvio's team couldn't match, even with their spirit walk technique.
"Show yourself, sovereign brat, or I'll wipe your puny pack from the face of the earth." The voice of Damari, a young man who was the exact cutout of Damon but with a stronger aura and a more stern expression, resonated throughout the severely damaged Azure City.
"Calm down, old crone. I'm already here," Kazan voiced furiously. He and Leah were standing a few feet away from the enemies.
You see, while they were in their deep sleep, the couple sensed the energy of these powerful enemies and rushed here as quickly as they could. However, they failed to get here in time to stop the slaughtering of several thousand of the Azure Pack civilians and warriors, hence why Kazan is angry.
Damari, in the blink of an eye, appeared in front of Kazan, attacking with a powerful punch that caused the atmosphere to ripple and screech. But Kazan not only evades Damari's attack but counters with a blow just as powerful. Leah also joined Kazan in attacking this ancient beast with a spirit strike. But Damari not only evades their blows with the insane speed of his windblade technique but also forces the couple a dozen feet back and apart with two powerful windblade strikes. Then, in counts of seconds, Damari and Kazan, with the help of Leah, exchanged a few hundred blows before the three were forced apart. And then they went at it again.
Of course, Silvio and his generals wanted to get involved in the battle from the start. However, the nineteen companions of Damari managed to stop them all from interfering in the battle of their leader, though their opponent numbers exceeded them by two.
"If you interfere anymore, my comrades and I will set our focus on destroying the pack," Damari threatened Leah. His main goal as of this moment is to take out this Azure Pack sovereign pup.
Why? Earlier, when his grandson Damon reported the humiliating defeat of two of the strongest armies on the continent and about the sovereign brat martial skills and magic, it piqued his interest. And that's why he came here. Well, he was mostly here to avenge his grandson Daniel. But after brawling with Leah and Kazan, he sensed a very familiar and terrifying aura that shocked him from the two, especially from Kazan. Then it all became clear.
The kid has somehow managed to transform his lineage into the same as that monster from back then, and the princess of the White Clover Pack is no ordinary royal, like he and many of his peers believed. She is the daughter of the previous White Clover Pack Supreme and that Violet Swan Pack woman.
These two possess that wretched Violet Swan bloodline and can't be allowed to stay alive. He has to kill these two before they become a bigger threat. However, if the princess continues to join hands with the pup, it won't be an easy task to defeat him. In fact, killing the pup won't even be possible. Therefore, he had to resort to such a method to fight one-on-one with the kid. Then, after he kills the kid, he will definitely kill her.
"And regardless of how strong you all are," Damari addressed Silvio and his generals. "You will be at great disadvantage fighting my colleagues and me while protecting all these hostages."
Leah, despite knowing what the old bastard goal is (divide and conquer), was left with no choice but to stand down. Though she wanted so strongly to fight along with Kazan, she couldn't do it at the expense of his beloved pack members. This will make him unhappy, after all.
"It's alright. I can handle this old crone on my own. Go assist Ezekiel and the others in escorting the civilians to the safe zone," Kazan, sensing the uneasiness in Leah, said calmly to her.
Like Leah, Kazan knows what this old bastard is scheming, but he had to play by his rules for now, for the safety of the Azure pack. Kazan is also aware this monster is a tough cookie to beat on his own, much less killed. Well, only if he continues to use fifty percent of Nathaniel's power.
Ugh, it seems he is left with no other choice but to go all out if he hopes to kill this old monster. However, it will be at a great cost to him too. In the worst-case scenario, he might die.
"Ok. Just be careful." Leah left to carry out Kazan's instructions, despite the uneasiness in her heart to leave his side during this troubling time.
"You are a cocky brat. Is it because you possess the physical strength and magic of that old cockroach, Nathaniel?" asked Damari, who popped up like a ghost before Kazan and exchanged numerous blows with him. "Even so, this world has laws." He knocked Kazan down with a powerful blow to the back of the head, followed by a kick that sent him flying. And the second Kazan regained his balance, Damari appeared next to him. "In other words, there is no way you can obtain such massive power up in a short time without side effects." He struck at Kazan with a wind blade technique, but it got stopped by Kazan's magic, or rather, the two attacks upon contact exploded and forced the two apart. "If my guess is correct, Nathaniel's energy should be too much for a pup like you to handle, despite him transforming your body." As if realizing something, Damar smiled.
"You know, you talk a lot," the irritated Kazan snorted before attacking Damari with the violet lightning ice art skill. And though Damari was strong, his windblade technique, even at its capacity, was not a match for Kazan's superior skill. In fact, if it weren't for Damari's battle experience and strength, his technique would have broken under the force of the Kazan technique in the first five minutes of their exchange.
Eventually, Damari managed to get away from Kazan's seemingly endless and unstoppable strikes with injuries that are not worth mentioning and retaliate with one of his most powerful strikes, the wind blade mountain destroyer strike. Kazan countered with an extreme magic attack and forced the old bastard over a dozen steps back.
"Not bad, pup," Damari said, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. "But I'm done playing around." His emerald eyes glowed, and his aura, which was like a tsunami, flooded everything in a five-mile radius. Luckily, the civilian population in the area had long been evacuated, or else they would be crushed under this massive energy that even these powerful people present at the scene had to use their strong aura to defend against.
