"It was you Ah Xu."

Zishu's eyes glistened in happiness as he pounced forward into the arms of his husband, Wen Kexing. Kexing, with a swift yet gentle movement, caught him, steadying him so they wouldn't tumble off the bed. His arms wrapped around Zishu, supporting him, as a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Zishu, nestled comfortably against his husband, murmured words of gratitude. Tears rolled nonstop in joy.

"Thank you, Ah Xing... for saving my life," Zishu said, his words barely above a whisper. His mind was cast back to that fateful day when he was a high school student, the day that had been etched deeply into that bad memories.

Kexing's eyes darkened at the remembrance of that day. He could still see it as clearly as if it had happened just yesterday. The teenage Zhou Zishu, pressed against the body of the assailant, the cold, sharp blade of the knife pressing threateningly against his neck. Kexing had arrived just in time, his heart pounding in his chest as he fought off the assailant, his only thought being to protect Zishu that time. He didn't know if not until today. He now realize what he felt that day

From that day forward, Kexing had made a vow. A vow to protect Zishu, to keep him safe from harm. He had realized then the depth of his feelings for Zishu, and he knew he would do anything to protect him.

As Zishu's words of gratitude reached his ears, Kexing tightened his grip around him, pulling him closer. He could feel Zishu's heartbeat against his own, a comforting rhythm that soothed his troubled thoughts.

"You don't have to thank me, Ah Xu," Kexing said softly, his voice barely audible. "I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will always protect you."

As they lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, a sense of peace washed over them. They knew they had each other, and that was all they needed. They had faced trials and tribulations, but they had come out stronger, their bond unbreakable.

They knew the road ahead wouldn't always be easy, but as long as they had each other, they were confident they could face anything. Their love story was just beginning, and they were ready to face whatever the future had in store for them, together.

As the days passed, Zhou Zishu's health gradually improved, thanks in large part to the unwavering care and attention of his husband, Wen Kexing. However, Zhou Zishu found himself having to playfully shoo Kexing away at times, insisting that he continue with his work.

Kexing had always been protective of Zishu, but since the attack, his vigilance had only increased. He was constantly on high alert, afraid that Zishu might suffer another panic attack. But there was more to Kexing's work than just running the family business. Unbeknownst to many, he was also the lord of the underworld, the head of a powerful mafia.

At work, Kexing was a different person. The warmth and gentleness that he showed at home were replaced by a cold, hard exterior. He was ruthless and feared, commanding respect from his subordinates. Yet, every night, no matter how late, he would return home, his first stop always being their bedroom to check on Zishu.

One such night, he arrived home past midnight. The house was quiet, the only sound being the soft ticking of the clock in the hallway. He made his way towards their bedroom, his steps light, not wanting to disturb Chengling and Zishu's sleep.

Upon entering, he saw Zishu sleeping peacefully. A smile tugged at his lips at the sight, his heart swelling with love for his husband. He moved closer, leaning down to gently kiss Zishu's forehead.

Zishu stirred slightly at the contact, a soft groan escaping his lips, but he didn't wake up. Kexing pulled away, watching as Zishu settled back into a deep sleep. He couldn't help but feel a sense of relief washed over him. Zishu was safe, he was home, and that was all that mattered.
