in which eliza gets invited on the cut the camera podcast...
we were all back at the hotel, in our room of course, and the sun was about to start setting. "does anyone wanna go a walk?" i ask hoping eliza will say yes and nobody else will, considering what i told them all earlier i hoped they knew what i was about to do, "i will, anyone else wanna come?" eliza replies and everyone shakes their head.
eliza links our arms as we walk to the beach, it was like nobody else in the world existed and it was just me and eliza against everything that came in our way, the world was quiet and everything felt right.
eliza grabs a sunbed and puts it horizontal facing the sea, so we could both sit on it.
"the sunset is so pretty" eliza says laying her head on my shoulder and i nod my head trying hard to ignore the fireworks exploding in my stomach, "chris, do you ever wonder what would've happened if me and matt were never sat by eachother in class. like do you reckon we'd be as close as we are now?" she asks he and i look down at her, that causes her head to fall off mt shoulder but she avoids eye contact, "liz, i don't want to wonder what if's because where we are now is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. i don't know what i would do without you" i answer.
she looks at me and pretends to wipe tears away, "look at you getting all sappy" she smiles and so do i looking away. the sun is now about mid-way to setting and eliza is admiring the orangey-red colours in the sky but im admiring her, admiring how the orangey-red lights from the sky could make one person look so breathtaking.
i stand up infront of her and she looks up at me, "chris the sun hasn't set yet, why are we leaving?" i laugh and shake my head, "liz, we aren't leaving yet" i stick out my hand and she takes it, i drag her up so she's stud infront of me and she looks at me with confusion in her expression.
"liz, promise you won't say anything until i'm done?" i ask and she nods, i grab her arms and take a deep breath, "okay so as i was saying earlier i don't know what i would do without you, like i'm actually so glad your in my life. anyways, your really special to me and i am so so so thankful for you so basically what i'm trying to say is will you be my girlfriend?" i say in one big breath and she's looking up at me looking like she's trying not to laugh, but instead, she breaks the biggest smile ever.
"of course i will chris!" she replies and i smile and then let out a sigh of relief, "i thought you were gonna say no like my-" she cuts me off, "chris, i'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible. shut up and kiss me" she says and i laugh.
i cup her cheeks and lean down and she leans into me, i kiss her and it's short but sweet. i can feel her smiling after i kiss her and i hug her, i think it's safe to say i love eliza smith.
we sit back on the sunbed and i put my arm around eliza as she lays her head on my shoulder, everything felt right. i felt this immense weight being lifted off my shoulders, i loved loving eliza. she made me feel safe, as though it was only us living in our own world that was filled with safety and love.
we walked home hand in hand just laughing and talking, "i'm gonna post on instagram, the others can find out that way. i know it's bitchy but i want to see their faces when we walk through the door" eliza explains opening instagram and i nod. i'll probably do the same.
