AS WE LEFT THE CARNAGE in the household of the Horne family, Alejandro and I looked for a patrolling cop around the area. I sent him into a trance to follow my command, ordering him to go investigate the Hornes' house to discover the surviving Mister Allan Horne that would look guilty with all the torn carcasses of his family members.

After that whole set up, I walked Alejandro back to his neighborhood. It was nearby the empty old train station, the place we first met. We stopped there for a moment, sitting on the railway platform, just silently taking in the ambience of the night after a bloody tiresome trespassing.

It was quiet, and peaceful; Alejandro told me he would often go here to think and unwind. But it became his secret place of mourning after his wife and unborn child's passing. And now that he had fulfilled his promise of vengeance, he finally grasped the catharsis of his story.

"What now?" Alejandro asked as he blankly stared at the railway tracks.

"The answer lies with you." I replied, glancing at him, at his beautiful chiseled face.

He pivoted his gaze back at me, and our eyes danced with a similar thought of wonder. "But you're my master. I'm at your disposal."

"What do you want now, Alejandro?"

"I... I don't really know. I haven't thought about what comes after."

"Do you still want to be my familiar?"

"It's the only purpose that keeps me going now. Because I don't really know what to do... without this."

"Perhaps enjoy your mortal days? Satisfy your own wants?"

"I don't have anything to go back for. My remaining mortal days would be a waste."

"Alejandro..." I sighed, and touched his hand. "This doesn't mean the end for you. Your life is a story waiting to be written, a masterpiece waiting to be painted on the canvas of time. Let your soul ignite with a burning passion, let your spirit soar to new heights. Do not be content with a life half-lived, a life confined by fear or self-doubt. Step into the arena of life, knowing that true greatness resides within you. Every word you speak, every action you take, has the potential to create ripples of change that extend far beyond your own perception. Your legacy is not a distant dream; it is an opportunity that exists in every moment. So... take it." I brushed the side of his rugged jaw, whilst looking at him intently. "I now relinquish you from your familiar duties. You deserve back your freedom."

"So you're leaving me now..." Alejandro dropped his gaze for a moment, feeling his dejected heart. "Please..." He whispered. "You're the only one I have now. I'm breathing and living because of you." Then, he locked his eyes back with mine. "You saved me and I'm forever indebted to you. But it's not just that; I want to stay with you, because you give my life meaning. My life makes sense when I'm with you. And all I want is you. I don't have to be alone. We... don't have to be alone." Alejandro took my hand, gently caressing it. "Make me your companion. I'll be yours forever - a devoted worshipper... to a goddess."

"What I have is a curse, Alejandro. I live in darkness. It will only consume you."

"I will gladly embrace darkness for you."

As I listened to Alejandro's confession, my emotions swirled within me. His words resonated deeply, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by his appreciation and devotion.

The weight of his gratitude and the intensity of his feelings filled our surrounding, temporarily leaving us breathless. I could see the sincerity in his eyes, locked with mine, begging me to take his hand and accept him.

Feeling the weight of his words, I took a moment to let them sink in. The impact of his confession sent ripples of uncertainty and vulnerability through me. Was I ready to invite someone again into my life in such a profound way? Could I take the leap and open up for him?

As I looked into Alejandro's eyes, I saw in them a reflection of my fears and desires, my lost desire for connection and companionship. His offer to be my devoted companion, a worshipper of my existence, stirred something within me. It was a tempting promise, filled with care and support.

Though uncertainty lingered, I couldn't deny the pull I felt towards Alejandro. The thought of not being alone, of sharing my life with someone who saw my worth and cherished it, called to me. The idea of having someone by my side who acknowledged the meaning he brings to my life was comforting. He was different from Lestat.

"Alright."

His eyes widened. "You will?"

I smiled. "I will."

As our hands held onto each other, a sense of excitement and vulnerability enveloped us. The decision had been made, and together, we would create a bond forged in understanding, gratitude, and a shared desire for companionship.... without the impurities of manipulation and lies. Something that wasn't Lestat's doing.

Taking a deep breath, I reached out and gently bit Alejandro's wrist. I sucked his blood until his olive complexion turned pale like he was kissed by winter. As he began slowly dying of blood loss, I bit my own wrist to bleed, then offered it to him to drink. Alejandro wrapped his mouth on my bleeding wound and started sipping.

When he quenched himself, Alejandro pulled back. Then, we waited. "How are you feeling?" I asked, worrying for the inevitable hurt of turning.

"I feel.... the same."

"Does anything hurt?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Huh.... The process is usually quick, at least to what I've experienced. I guess we'll have to wait a little bit longer. It'll be painful, I tell you. But after this, we'll be together."

I felt a cold gush of wind behind me. Then, an occuring shadow that stretched far and wide, sent an ominous premonition which corrupted the air around us. I froze.

"If it isn't Romeo and Juliet, about to run away together. Spoiler: they both die."

My hands clenched into fists as I turned around to face him "...Lestat."

"Hello, ma cherie." He smiled slowly, showing his razor-sharp fangs. "I've missed you."
