ZACHARIAS WENT TO THE LIBRARY and I followed suit behind him. He was frantically looking for a certain old book through the shelves - he said, it was a grimoire of his great grandmother. He said, his great grandmother's cup of tea were hexes amongst other things and she jotted down all of her creations in it. The book then became a guide to the next gen of Mayfair witches, but was eventually banned because of its dark nature. Zach said he was burdened to hide it away, but the change of circumstances led him to have desperate measures.
"Only the women of the Mayfair clan can fully practice some crafts without an aid of a grimoire. The men however, have to rely on it since we don't have that kind of ability." Zach explained. Though, a moment later, he started cussing frustratingly.
"Hey!" I grabbed him by the shoulder to look at me. "What is it?"
His brown eyes were wide and frantic. "It's not here..."
Tala's coughing were loud that it echoed to the library. We could hear her gasping in pain.
"I guess your way is invalid. Now let's do this MY way." I stated to Zach, angry and ready. "Let's find out who the evil witch is, and I'll do what is needed to be done."
"We don't need to find out. I already have a positive feeling who the hexing witch is." Zach replied firmly. "It's Loreléi. And you're mistaken if you think I will let you hurt my cousin."
"So you're just going to let Tala die?!"
"Die?" Zacharias shook his head with a smile of disbelief. "You and her are both undead."
"Then she'll suffer if the hex remained! Look..." I held both of his shoulders, drawing him near. "I know you like her more than me. You've taken care of her when I couldn't. Please don't stop now."
"I didn't stop caring, Lestat! I am trying to save her, and you're here trying to kill my cousin!" Zacharias pushed me away from him. "Just stop being a murderous cunt for a second and let me think of something!"
"We don't have much time. Tala is desiccating..."
"Then we'll need more time."
"Didn't you hear what I said? We don't have enough time!"
"Just shut up for a second will you?!" Zacharias went to the kitchen. I followed behind him and saw him grab a jar of salt, and then candles, and charcoal.
"What're you gonna do with that?"
"I'll try to temporarily block the hex to slow down the desiccation process on her body, and try my best to reverse it a little." Zach answered. "It will give me some time to locate Loreléi to talk some sense into her - to make her stop the hex. She'll listen to me..."
"Let's hope so, or you know what I'll do to her."
Zacharias glared at me, but then did not say anything much to quarrel and just continued to prepare what he's about to do.
