The night had soon fallen and the boys and Vanity were back to their spot, turns out Steve's theory of a bear or deer stealing their tent was debunked as nothing had been moved.
They'd relit the fire, this time putting actual sticks on it rather than Paul's poor Monopoly however that had been relit as well and was now burning along with the wood.
Sid was sat up with his back against the van as he watched the fire dance around in the darkness.
Vanity laid with her back against Sid's chest as he rested his chin on the crown of her head, his warm hands wrapped around her cold ones which laid on her lower stomach, he softly grazed his thumb over her knuckles.
They'd taken a blanket out of the back of the van and laid it across their legs, it didn't cover all of Sid's as his tatty converse shoes stuck out from the end of it.
"I'm so bored, fucking bored" Steve huffed "oh come on don't be a misery guts." Paul said throwing a little pebble at him. "He's got a point Paul, I mean there's only so many marshmallows you can toast over a fire before it becomes boring" Johnny said fully just throwing one of the marshmallows into the fire.
"the only people that are enjoying themselves is them two" Steve pointed to Vanity and Sid as he looked at her with narrowed eyes. "what?" she asked "nice of ya to finally join us." Steve said sarcastically, Johnny glared at them both and rolled his eyes.
"do you have to kiss and cuddle everywhere you go?" Johnny asked his brows furrowed as he said the words almost like vomit from his lips, Sid didn't pick up on this however and instead thought John was just joking so he laughed, "don't be jealous mate" he grinned.
"as if i'd be jealous of you two, i'm more concerned for my own physical well-being if i have to see this going on for much longer" Johnny replied, honestly he knew he was lying to them, he knew he shouldn't be so angsty towards them however it was fucking difficult.
that was a large part of the problem, Sid and Vanity were a disgustingly cute and sickening couple. they'd happily kiss and make out in front of whoever they pleased, it didn't bother them at all and anyone who had a problem with it was just jealous of them.
the judgmental stares, and tuts of elderly's and conservative people made it seem like Sid and Vanity were aliens and didn't belong on plant Earth, however that's how they liked it, they both never strived to fit in, instead it was the people who weren't them that seemed to mimic the way they dress, the way they walk and the way they spoke to each other. And no matter what everyone wanted their relationship. Vanity didn't know why, she didn't understand the obsession, she'd understand why someone would want to look and be like Sid however she didn't understand why people wanted the same for her.
she thought she looked ugly, her front teeth were too big, her lips were slightly crooked, she wasn't the skinniest girl to walk the Earth in fact she hated the way her body looked, she hated her boobs, her stomach wasn't tightly toned, her thighs touched, her hips were too wide.
Sid loved it, he loved the way she did her hair, he loved her teeth, he loved how her thighs touched, he liked having something to hold onto, he loved her curves and the way her waist filled her dresses out, he loved her smile and how her lips weren't perfectly shaped, he loved her boobs and how they fit in his hands, he loved the way her stomach looked in her clothes and he especially liked holding her hips when they had sex.
