The front door swung open nearly an hour later, revealing Mickey and Tiffany in a state of mild inebriation. Laughter bubbled between them as they struggled to maintain their balance.
"Hey, Van! Apologies for the tardiness!" Mickey hollered, his words slightly slurred, and a mischievous grin on his face. Tiffany, however, wore a puzzled expression, her brows knit together.
"What's up?" Mickey inquired, noticing the tension on Tiffany's face. He traced her line of sight to the living room. "Bloody hell, what's gone on in here?" he muttered to himself, stepping into the chaotic scene.
Tiffany, without waiting for an explanation, rushed past Mickey, her instincts urging her to check on Vanity. Panic surged through her as she ascended the stairs, reaching their room to find it in disarray. Her heart sank at the sight of Vanity lying unconscious.
"Mickey, upstairs!" Tiffany shouted urgently, her voice filled with concern. Mickey, now alarmed, followed her to the scene. The once jolly atmosphere had turned into a tense and dire situation.
Vanity lay on the floor, her eyes closed, surrounded by signs of struggle and blood splattered across her face, bruising and cuts scattered her body. Tiffany knelt beside her, checking the blood on her face. her forehead cut open. a rather deep gash lay thick in her head which had dried blood crusted around it along with the darker red blood that still dripped out of the wound "Van, wake up," she pleaded, gently tapping Vanity's cheek.
Mickey, a mix of anger and worry etched on his face, scanned the room for any signs of an intruder. "What the hell happened here?" he muttered, clenching his fists.
Tiffany's attempts to rouse Vanity were met with grogginess. "She's alive, but we need to get her up," Tiffany said, looking up at Mickey. "Mickey, help me." she said. Mickey picked Vanity up bridal style and took her to the bedroom in her house.
Mickey's jaw tightened at the sight of his sister like this. she may not have been related to him by blood but he didn't care. he still classed her as that. they were more than just best friends. "I'll go get some hot water." Tiffany said and hurried downstairs to boil the kettle so that she could clean Vanity's cuts.
After around two hours, Vanity slowly regained consciousness, the room came into focus. Tiffany and Mickey anxiously hovered over her, their faces etched with concern.
"Mickey, what happened?" Vanity groaned, her head throbbing with pain.
Mickey's eyes bore into Vanity's, a mix of worry and anger swirling in his gaze. "That's what we're trying to figure out. You were found unconscious in our bedroom. Do you remember anything?"
Vanity winced, her memories slowly returning. She took a deep breath, the gravity of the situation settling in. "It was Robbin. He found me, threatened me with a knife," she whispered, her voice shaky.
Tiffany's eyes widened in shock, and Mickey's expression hardened. "Robbin? How the hell did he find you?" Mickey demanded, his fists clenching involuntarily.
Vanity hesitated for a moment before recounting the events leading up to the terrifying encounter. She explained about stealing money from Nathan, suspecting he had informed Robbin of her whereabouts, and the subsequent threat she faced.
Mickey's face darkened with anger, his jaw clenching as he absorbed the revelation. "That son of a bitch." He turned around. "where are you going?" Tiffany asked "I'm going to find Jevon, and we'll figure out how to deal with Robbin. He's not getting away with this. Time to make some fucking use of my name" Mickey declared, his voice filled with resolve.
Without waiting for further explanation, Mickey left the room, his footsteps echoing down the hallway. Tiffany remained by Vanity's side, offering a comforting hand. "We'll get through this. Mickey won't let anything else happen to you" Tiffany assured, her eyes reflecting determination.
Mickey got in his car and drove to Jevon's current living situation. When Jevon found out what had happened he was furious but also he was more than happy to help with this plan.
The rain now poured down and it wasn't long before the blonde man was spotted by Mickey. He saw this as a perfect opportunity to talk to him. He put the right indicator on to signal to Jevon, who'd been walking on the other side of the road, following the slow pace that Mickey's car had been going, that Robbin was close.
Jevon stopped walking and hid in the shadowed area as he watched Mickey pull up to the side of the road and beep the horn. he rolled down his window as Robbin stopped slightly to see who was in the car. when he saw Mickey his throat almost closed up.
"Hey, mate! Long time no see!" Mickey greeted with a deceptive friendliness. Robbin, still uneasy, nodded in response. Mickey was one of the few people who really scared him to his core, the feeling of caution overtook him.
"Yeah, it's been a while. What are you up to?" Robbin asked, trying to sound nonchalant, keeping his hands in his pocket.
Mickey chuckled, playing along with the casual conversation. "Oh, you know, just driving around, enjoying the rain. Where you headin' in this weather?" he asked.
Robbin, now nervous, stuttered, "Uh, just the pub. Gotta grab a drink." Idiot.
Mickey's smile widened, feigning innocence. "Funny, that's where I was heading too. Jump in, I'll give you a lift." He said waving his hand to Robbin to get in the car.
Robbin hesitated, sensing something was off. Mickey may have known what he did to Vanity but that's not what scared Robbin. it was the wondering of what was going to happen to him if Mickey did know. "Nah, I'm good. I'll walk." Robbin went to walk however Mickey nudged the car forward causing Robbin to stop again
Mickey's friendly facade slipped, replaced by a false look of sympathy, and now demanding him to get into the car. "Come on, Robbin. It's pouring out here. Get in."
Before Robbin could decline, Jevon emerged from the shadows, blocking his escape route. The imposing figure stared at Robbin with a knowing glint in his eyes.
"What's the rush, Robbin? Thought you were going for a drink?" Jevon quipped, a sly smile playing on his lips.
Realisation dawned on Robbin, a sinking feeling settling in his stomach. He attempted to make a run for it however Jevon shoved him back, he hit the car and before he could even attempt to fight back Jevon pulled him forwards and opened the back door, shoving Robbin into it and slamming the door.
Quickly he got into the passenger seat and Mickey had clicked the inside lock beside him which automatically locked every other door as well.
Mickey revved the engine, glancing at Robbin through the rear view mirror. "You hurt my fucking sister. i think it's time you were taught a lesson about what happens when you don't play nice."
The rain intensified as Mickey accelerated, determined to confront Robbin and ensure that he paid for the harm he caused. Jevon remained vigilant, casting a watchful gaze on Robbin from the front passenger seat.
The car cut through the rain-soaked streets, heading towards a reckoning that had been a long time coming.
