"Good morning, everyone."
"Good morning, Sunny," Christine chuckled.
Sunny smiled as she watched her uncles, aunts, and cousins cooking in the backyard. There are at least five enormous pots for significant portions of soups cooked in there.
"Where's Hassanal?" Christine asked.
"I'm right here," Tengku Hassanal replied as soon as he entered the kitchen area.
"Oh, where are your family already? On their way?" Christine asked while she was peeling a massive basket of garlic to be used for the cooking later on.
"Yes. They told me that they were on their way. Just left at 8 am just now," he replied.
"Alright. They will be on time for brunch," she said.
"Yup," he smiled.
"Have you two seen the tents outside? The decorations? Everything is good?" Christine asked.
"I've seen it," Adrian approached them.
"No, I haven't. You?" Sunny asked Tengku Hassanal.
"I did just now with Adrian," he replied.
"Deco is nice. Everything's nice," Adrian told them.
"Good. Where is Lia, though? I asked her to buy packs of ice, but she has not returned," Christine said, looking around the kitchen, searching for a knife.
"She hasn't come back yet. Well, some of the cousins followed her. Must've gone to the market to buy something to eat," Adrian chuckled.
"Alright then. Can you check the caterers? We catered a lot of food, by the way. I think it'll last us at least for two weeks. And we can still give the villagers some extra food," Christine said.
Sunny chuckled, "Ma, chill out. You sound like you're rushing."
"Well, Hassanal's family are coming to this town and our house? How can I not be rushing?" Christine replied while quickly chopping the garlic with another aunt.
Tengku Hassanal and Sunny chuckled, "Mom, Sunny is right. Just relax. We're all humans. And we're family. You don't have to treat my parents like they are kings and queens."
Christine stopped and looked at the two of them, "And the fact that they are?"
Sunny laughed, "Ma, the king and queen are before you. They were kings and queens. Ma, we're all family. Just treat us how you treat normal people."
Christine smiled thinly, "How can I? My girl grew up becoming a K-Pop idol and then had her first failed miserably marriage, and luckily, the second one did not fucking fail."
