"I'm sorry, ma'am. Who are you?"
I looked at the security guard before scanning my key card.
I put down my mask, and he looked taken aback.
"Ma'am, I am so sorry. Welcome home," the guard bowed before letting me pass with Hassanal.
"Thank you," I muttered with a nod before entering the corridor.
"Isn't it enough for you to have a key card to know that you have a house here?" Hassanal asked me with a small voice.
"That, I'm not sure," I told him.
We entered the elevator and went to the level where my penthouse was.
"Are you sure it's gonna be okay with me going with you here?" He asked me once more. He's been asking the same question for over the past few hours.
"I swear, it's gonna be alright," I said to him.
I look at my hand. Pale. It's not my intention to show myself to Mark, Hyun-woo, or anyone. But, if it's fate for them to see me in this condition, I won't run.
We reached the floor and exited—only one door to my penthouse. And the whole floor is mine. So, only those with my key cards can enter this level.
I take a deep breath before I scan my key card on the door.
When I entered the penthouse, I furrowed my eyebrows upon seeing a pair of unknown shoes. Heels. But not mine. Not mine.
I paused for a while before turning to Hassanal. He raised his eyebrows.
"C-Can you wait here for a while?" I said to him.
"Yeah, sure," he nodded.
I took off my shoes before entering the penthouse. I can't lie; I'm terrified. All the bad things are in my head. I tried to be positive, but it didn't work.
I saw a handbag on the dining table and walked towards it. I looked through the purse and saw an ID, but I heard laughing and moans. I look towards the bedroom. I took a look at the ID, and my jaw dropped. I felt my world was going upside down.
I saw her phone in the bag and took it out. I unlocked it with a passcode. She still uses the same passcode. I looked through her text, and my heart even dropped.
He had Mark's name with a heart at the end. I looked through the text, and I knew what was up already. I can't believe it. I can't believe my eyes. I look through her other chats. I stopped scrolling when I realized I had been betrayed not only by Mark and her...
It seems like a lot of my 'so-called' friends have been turning their backs on me. When I heard louder moans, I grabbed the handbag and walked towards the bedroom.
"Sun?" Hassanal said, but I stopped him.
"Stay here," I told him and walked towards the bedroom.
The moans became louder, and my ears were burning. My heart was shattered into pieces. I couldn't believe it. I cannot believe it.
I slammed open the door, shocking the two of them.
"Sunny?" Mark looked at me.
"I-It's not what you think it is," Ningning told me.
I throw the handbag at her, "I TRUSTED YOU!"
"Sunny, I promise it's not what it looks like," Mark got up and walked towards me.
"Don't even try to touch me, you cheater!" I screamed at him.
"This was a mistake! I promise you!" He said to me.
"I put my trust in you, Ningning. You're my best friend!" I said to her.
She looked at me and sighed before crying.
I looked at Mark and shook my head, "We're done. Okay? We're done."
"Sunny, don't," Mark said, grabbing my hand, but I pulled my hand from his grip.
"Don't even try to touch me anymore! I don't trust you! You're not my husband," I said to him.
"Sunny! I'm sorry! Please, don't do this!" Ningning begged.
"Mark, take all your things and get out of this penthouse. I don't care if this is a mistake or your intention. I DON'T CARE! GET OUT OF HERE. I GIVE YOU A WEEK TO GET YOUR THINGS OUT OF HERE," I said to him.
"WHAT ABOUT HYUN-WOO?" Mark asked.
I looked at him and pointed, "He's not yours anymore."
"I'll fight for him, Sunny," Mark said.
I laughed sarcastically, "Are you aware of the tone you're speaking to me now, cheater?" I asked him.
He looked at me, "I'm not the only cheater here, Sunny."
I laughed and looked at him, "You're the only one. Who cheated on me while I was fighting for my life, battling cancer?! No one beside me except for Adrian and Hassanal, who cared for me there! I'm trying to recover quicker, and you're here fucking with my best friend!? How does it feel, you think!?"
"THEN WHAT ABOUT YOUR SECRET!? WORKING FOR THE PRESIDENT!? WORKING FOR THE SECRET SERVICE!? MAKING PEOPLE FOLLOW ME EVERYWHERE I GO!? WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" He shouted at me.
I look at him, "Oh, don't even connect our relationship with my job! That is my job! This is what we are right now! You cheated on me while I was battling for my life. You have a good life right now! Do you understand that!?"
"YOU KEPT SECRETS FROM ME! HOW AM I GOING TO BELIEVE YOU AGAIN!? EVEN WHEN YOU TOLD US YOU WERE SICK! I DOUBT IT BECAUSE YOU KEPT A LOT OF SECRETS! THE HOSTAGE!? THE MOMENTS WHEN YOU WILL ALWAYS WALK OUT WHEN YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING? DO YOU THINK I CAN BELIEVE YOU!?" He said again.
"DON'T EVEN TRY TO CONNECT WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW WITH YOUR PROBLEM RIGHT NOW. THAT IS MY JOB, AND I'VE BEEN DOING THAT SINCE I WAS SMALL!" I shouted back at him.
"THEN WHY DID SUNWOO KNOW!?" he asked me.
"BECAUSE HE WAS TOLD BY SOMEONE ELSE!" I shouted at him.
"AND YOU TOLD HIM EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU! WHAT IS IT THAT I DON'T HAVE!? WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES ME DOESN'T DESERVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU!? YOU'RE MY WIFE! WE'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR YEARS, AND I WAITED FOR YEARS!" He asked.
"I don't care. Get ready for the divorce papers. And you?" I pointed at Ningning.
She was standing behind with a blanket wrapped around her.
"Tell Yu-jin. Tell Yuna. Tell the others. Who knows about you two... I don't want to see their faces anymore. I'm done with all of you. Betrayers and liars and cheaters," I muttered.
I immediately left the living room and grabbed Hassanal's arm, and we got out of the penthouse.
