Anu and Robin had made their way further into the ruins of Shandora and were exploring various aspects of it when Robin found a wall with some kind of writing on it.
"Can it be..." she said to herself. "The words that are written here are the same script as those on the poneglyph."
"Wouldn't the only people capable of using these symbols be the ones that created them?" Anu asked as he walked up beside her so he too could study the wall as well.
"Precisely." Robin answered as she began translating what was written on the wall. "'Hold the truth in your heart, keep your mouth silent. We are the ones who weave history with the reverberations of the Great Bell.' Yes, I remember reading that a huge solid gold bell is here...it was in Noland's papers."
"I remember reading about that as well." Anu added as he looked on. "A giant golden bell whose heavenly tone could only be matched by the heavens itself."
"It looks like all the town's books were burned." Robin commented. "And the city's history was erased."
"Shame." Anu replied. "The history this city must've held was probably magnificent."
"Truly." Robin commented. "The poneglyph was brought to this city! There's no doubt...this city fought against the enemy." she thought to herself. "The Golden City of Shandora was ruined in the service of protecting the poneglyph."
"Shouldn't there be a bell somewhere near here." Anu commented as the pair roamed the plaza in search of their prize.
"'The great bell hangs in the center of the four altars.'" Robin said aloud, to herself more than Anu.
"I guess it's gone then." Anu replied.
"If the poneglyph was with the Great Bell, there's no hope of finding it here." she thought. "Even at the height of it's prosperity, the city tried to protect it's history! What happened to the world in that distant past?"
"Can't tell until we find out." Anu replied.
The pair continued until Robin found something interesting in a corner of the plaza.
"Anu, look at this." Robin pointed out. "Could these be old cart tracks?"
"No. I'd say these were put here more recently." he replied, looking the tracks over. "I'd wager that whatever gold was here was moved elsewhere."
"Yahahaha." a stranger laughed from a distant part of the plaza. "Impressive isn't it? A city that continues to exist in such glory, even in the sky...Shandora. The legendary capital can't be admired if it's covered in clouds. I discovered it. My idiotic predecessors didn't even notice it."
"Who are you?" Robin asked as she and Anu turned to see who was talking to them.
"I am the Kami, Eneru." the stranger replied.
