Lonny walked into the unknown bar with his friends and girlfriend, smiling wildly as he wrapped his arm around her waist. "This place is cute!" Ava said, leaning on Lonny's shoulder as she looked around.

"It is." Lonny agreed, following their group to a table. "If the drinks are good, we'll come back." He said. Ava nodded, holding his hand tightly as they sat down. She was a very affectionate person and Lonny adored that about her.

They had been together for a little over a year and Lonny couldn't be happier. He was planning on marrying that woman eventually.

A waitress came up to the table, smiling at the group. "Hi, what can I get you guys? Do you want any appetizers or are you just here for some drinks?" She asked.

"A round of Buffalo wings sound good." Beaux said, looking around at the group to make sure everyone was on board.

"Alright and what will it be for drinks?" She asked after writing down the order. Everyone around them rattled off their drink order as Lonny looked at the drink menu. He really didn't know what he wanted.

"What about you, babe?" Ava asked. Lonny tilted his head to the side. "I think I'll just stick with water for now. If I figure something out, I'll go to the bar." He said.

"Okay, sounds good. I'll be right back with everything." She said before leaving the table.

"Did you see that Michael and Jada got engaged?" Beaux's girlfriend, Kate asked.

"Really?" Ava exclaimed excitedly. "Are there pictures?" She asked. Kate immediately pulled her phone out, and Beaux chuckled. "Now we'll be asked why we haven't proposed yet for the next week." He said in a stage whisper, making Lonny laugh. He wasn't wrong.

Kate slapped Beaux's arm with an eye roll before going back to scrolling through the photos with Ava. "I'm not worried about it. I know Lonny is going to eventually." Ava beamed, turning to kiss Lonny on the cheek affectionately. Lonny smiled at that and nodded.

They had talked about marriage before, but neither had any plans on it any time soon. They were happy where they were in their relationship and didn't see the need in rushing anything.

"Considering before you, Lonny's longest relationship was five months, I believe it." Beaux laughed. Lonny was notorious for not being able to stay in relationships for very long.

Lonny merely laughed. It was a mostly true statement. As far as Beaux new, those were his longest relationships. The longest one he had been in wasn't Ava though. That was a lifetime ago and not something he thought about ever. Lonny was long over his past relationships and all he cared about was Ava

The wings and drinks came, and the conversation was dropped. "Baby? Are you not going to get a drink?" Ava asked.

"I will, let me finish this wing and I'll go to the bar. You guys want anything?" Lonny said. The other three all shook their heads no, and Lonny nodded, wiping his hands with a napkin before standing up and making his way through the crowded downtown bar. The bartender had his back to Lonny, wiping out some glasses that were stacked on the counter behind the bar. He was tall- slightly taller than Lonny from what he could tell, and had inky black hair and tattoos covering both arms.

"Uhm, excuse me? I'd like to order a drink if you're not busy." Lonny said loud enough to be heard over the music.

"Yeah, what can I get for you?" The bartender said as he turned, and Lonny's breath caught in his throat as he stared into familiar blue eyes that he thought he would never see again. It had been nearly seven years since he looked into those eyes, now free of pain and tears like what Lonny had thought would be the final time he saw them.
