As soon as she arrived at the castle Maya couldn't wait anymore, she rushed into the castle to her room in the Ravenclaw tower, not listening to professor Weasley who wanted to have a last word with her. With haste, she was searching for papers, ink and a quill by moving everything there were on her desk. Her movements were almost desperate as if she needed it as something essential for her. As she found the items she started to write her letter to her cousin.
Dear Garreth,
I really need to see you, to talk to you!
All is a mess and I don't know what to do anymore. Please meet me at the astronomy tower, I'll be waiting for you all night if needed so don't you dare to not show up!꧁༺ 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓶𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 𝓜𝓪𝔂𝓪 ༻꧂
Paper folded and placed in an envelope, a red hot liquid wax has been placed to seal the letter. The little rectangle of paper has been placed into Mihaelis' beak, her owl, who went flying through the window to deliver the letter to the ginger boy.
As she arrived at the top of the astronomy tower, Maya saw her cousin who was already here, waiting for her. Slowly stepping towards him, she was beginning to feel anxious about everything. The Griffindor boy turned around and welcomed her with a warm smile and opened arms as the redhead ran into his embrace and began to cry.
"Was it that horrible? And wait you're wearing a man's jacket? Is it Gaunt's?" he asked surprised.
"It was... So painful... And somehow... There was such a magical moment... But everything else was painful..." she replied.
"Wait, wait, wait? Magical and painful? You'll have to tell me what happened Maya I'm clueless. I wasn't here remember?"
Garreth looked at her in the eyes, his hands on her shoulder, a little moment of a silent exchange between the two cousins.
"Can we sit and I will tell you everything?" Maya said.
"Well of course, I prepared everything, blankets, snacks, drinks and I even have some potions of my own concoction if you want." he said with a chuckle.
"I would normally object for the potions but if it can preserve myself to be officially engaged then why not." she replied with a giggle.
The two young copper hair went to sit down on a sheet and placed a blanket on their legs. Sitting one against the side of the other, both staring at the stars. Maya started to talk about the diner, from the moment they arrived, the shock when she saw Axel, the tension during the whole dinner, even when she ran away and was joined by the handsome slytherin to the lies she told so he wouldn't have any reprimand.
"Oh wow... So much information here and wait you two have... when you were... Damn Maya I knew you were fiery and bold but this has surpassed all that I have imagined!" he said with laughter trying to relax his cousin at least a little bit. "You know Maya... You're in a terrible mess... but I understand your point, moreover it's not like it was a love that wouldn't last, both of you knew each other and from what I'm hearing you two still love each other." he sighed heavily. "I... Don't know what to say or do Maya... This situation is all bloody complicated... Moreover the Gaunt and Drake are so close... It's impossible to break the engagement for the other family without creating tensions."
"I could not care less about it Garreth... I... I know that I know nothing about aristocracy in the wizarding world... But... This is all so... Stupid! I wish I had a voice, that people would hear me out! All I want is to live happily, I have already had my fair share of bad things happening to me in the past... Why can't I just be happy for once?"
