October 10th 1892, Hogwarts.

It's been a little more than a month now that Maya was officially engaged to Ominis and that Axel has been under multiple Cruciatus Curse because of her.

Ever since, the Ravenclaw did a pretty good job up to now to avoid the twins by having most of her free time in her common room or with the company of her aunt in her classroom to study. She was even avoiding to walk in uncrowded places to be able to mix with the other students so his eyes wouldn't land on her, so their gaze wouldn't meet. Even for class, Maya was doing her best to be the last to arrive and the first to get out, ignoring any students that would try to talk to her.

Lingering ache of a broken heart. So clos and so far. Loved but unreachable. Maya lost her true smile but she was good at pretending and making fake ones. A mask for the society as she could only be the happiest marrying the kindest of the Gaunt family, the one who cares and nurtures: Ominis.

The redhead stopped counting how many time students were gossiping about it, saying how lucky she was and that she shouldn't be ungrateful by acting recklessly like at the engagement party where her kiss with Axel made more than one person being shocked about it. The Ravenclaw couldn't care less as it was all belonging to the past, she has been behaving since.

Maya was in potion class right now, doing the potion asked with her classmate but also close friend Amitt. She enjoyed his company even if sometimes he was talking way too much when it came to the subject of astronomy. He was a cool boy, always here to help her and to be honest, she enjoyed to listen about the story he had to tell about the stars. It was interesting.

When the class ended, Maya placed her stuff back into her bag and wanted to get out of the class real quick but Garreth went to her as he wanted to talk to her a bit.

"Maya, I'm worrying for you. Can we talk a bit?" He asked.

"Not now Garreth... I need to get out of here..." She answered with a sense of urgency in her voice.

"Please.... I missed you... You aren't yourself, we haven't talk since... You know..." The ginger boy said with a hint of sadness into his voice.

"Meet me at my favourite spot? Otherwise send me an owl and we'll meet." Maya answered.

"I will do that then." The Gryffindor nodded.

When she started to reach for the exit Maya felt a hand that went on her shoulder to stop her with a voice too recognisable.

"Maya wait!"

"No... No I can't do this..." She said while removing her his hand and began to run away. Tears falling down her cheeks as the redhead was escaping the only one who could make her heart beat like a drum.

The boy turned and see Garreth. Decided, he rushed to him and went straight forward, he needed to be able to talk to Maya at any cost. It has been way too long.

"Garreth. Please I need your help, I need to talk to Maya."

The ginger boy turned to see a honey blond Slytherin with sky blue eyes standing before him with a sad expression of his face, the one of a heartbreak, a lingering pain and longing for something. For someone.

"Axel... I... She didn't even talked to me lately, I had to asked her to be able to have her agreeing to have a moment with her as you might have seen a few moment ago. I don't know if I can do anything to arrange you two to meet." He replied.

"Then tell me where I can find her. Please Garreth... I could easily read your mind and yet I'm asking you instead." The blond boy pleaded with a desperate tone.
