After the dance with Septimus for the opening of the ball, the couple went to stand where they were before the dance. Avril looked around and saw her brother in a corner, looking at Maya who was walking to the food and drinks table when Ominis left her. She could feel her twin's emotions as they both were natural legilimens and was reading his mind. Who would have guess that both sibling would be tied to a terrible faith of not being able to love freely? It just felt like their whole family has been cursed with forbiden romance or forced marriage. The flaxen haired girl only wished that her brother wouldn't attempt anything foolish this night since he has already been punish by their father last night with an unforgivable curse for the scene last night.
"If only we could do more than just standing here... I hate it to be obligated to stay next to you all of the time because of our engagment status." Avril vented with a low voice so not everyone could hear her.
"Believe me I hate it as much as you but I may have a solution, you will be free soon enough." Septimus replied.
"What do you mean? Father won't allow it."
"We're supposed to be the one to succeed uncle Drake right? What terrible successors we would be to not look out for the guests and socialize with them." he said with a mischevious smirk on his face.
"I guess... you're not wrong about it..." she said.
"Of course I'm not, now if you will excuse me my dear Avril, there's someone I'd like to meet."
Septimus did a little bow with his head before he started to walk to a foreign lady with long black hair and a white dress. Avril sighed before looking around once more, wondering what she would be able to do with this new found liberty for a moment when her eyes laid on a mysterious man. He had mid-lenght raven hair, a tanned skin and some unusual colour for the eyes, there were purple. How intriguing for the lioness to see such a man, they were in the same house but somehow they never talked before as she never really paid attention until now about him.
His amethyst eyes found her ceruleans', a smirk drawned on his face, the mysterious lion excused himself to the ladies he was talking with and went in her direction. Her heart raced instantly when she noticed, holding her breath for a few second before breathing once more. The more the man was coming closer to her, the more her smile appeared and widened. His hand reached hers as the raven haired leaned to place a kiss on her knuckles before straightened again before her.
"Good evening my lady, I'm Lorn Pickerton, it's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful woman like you here." he said with a charming but a sufficient smile.
"Avril Drake" she answered. "Well unfortunately, this beautiful woman as you said is engaged."
"Never heard of any rule or law that doesn't allow a gentleman to talk to an engaged lady, have you?"
"I... Well no but it could be seen as innapropriate." she replied.
"Only if I lose my manners and be unrespectful darling but that's up to you if you want me to continue to converse with me or not." Lorn replied as his hand took a strand of her hair and kissed the tip of it before letting it go.
Avril thought for a moment, she didn't want to make any mistake and be blame for it later, she knew how her father could react if he was disappointed. Her eyes traveled to Septimus who already engaged the conversation with the raven haired lady, her cousin seemed to have fun asit was the first time the flaxen girl saw him laughing heart fully. Soon enough, her eyes widened seeing her fiancé engaging a dance with the lady. If he took the liberty to invite someone to dance so why not her after all? The girl's gaze went back to Lorn to whom she gave a beautiful smile.
"Oh well I don't mind at all to spend a bit more time and to converse with you, it will be my pleasure." she ended up to say.
"Would you grant me a dance then, Princess?" Pickerton asked.
"Well of course." she replied without any hesitation in her voice.
His hand found hers once more and led the girl on the dancefloor. The two of them placed their hands appropriately on each other, when it was done, the waltz started. Avril had no problem following Lorn's steps as she was a very good dancer. Their gaze intertwined, the flaxen haired girl was like under a spell, totally under the man's charm even with how small their conversation was. Her cheeks started to tint into a light red colour which didn't go unnoticed by the man who smirk instantly.
"Seems like someone is interested by me. I know you wanted me but didn't think it was that much." Lorn teased her with a mischievous smile.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Instantly replied Avril. "It's normal for anyone to look at their dance partner."
"Right, but you're not looking without interest darling. Let me prove it to you, will you?"
With these words, Lorn pulled her closer to him which made her gasped due to the surprise of his act. Slowly but surely, the Lion was deviating their steps during the waltz, making them slowly go to another corner of the ballroom where there was no one and where most of the guests never looked at. Even Avril didn't notice at first as much as she was admiring him but reality came back to her when he pinned her against the wall.
His lips when next to the sensitive skin of her neck, brushing against it just to tease the sweet little Princess. At a leisurely pace, Lorn moved his mouth up in front of her face, almost touching her lips. His hot breath was crashing on to her lips while he pressed his torso on her chest, his knee slightly touching in between her legs through the layers of her dress. Breathless was Avril before him but also speechless as she was turned on by him. If she could, Avril would have kissed him right away but she was restraining herself as much as possible even though the lust the girl felt at this very moment was painful.
"What is it Princess? Have you lost your ability to talk?" he whispered, his lips still close to hers.
"It is hard... Mostly when such a handsome man is against you..." Avril replied. "But maybe you shall back off a little... My father wouldn't appreciate it if he notice us."
"Oh right... Have to keep that image of the well behaving girl you are right? Then let me just do this before I let you go."
Lorn leaned and pressed his lips again hers into a feverish and hungry kiss, his tongue joining hers into wild and yet forbidden dance. His knee put a bit more pressure which made her moan lightly against his lips. After a few seconds that seemed like an eternity, Pickerton broke the kiss and freed Avril. The man granted her a bow before leaving her there, her cerulean eyes following him moving away from her.
Avril took a little moment to catch up her breath, her blushing cheeks still burning from their little moment. After calming herself down, the girl went back to her place waiting for Septimus to join her as her father would wait for her to behave. Her fingers came across her lips, her gaze absent as she was still daydreaming about the fervent kiss they exchanged.
