Meerab sat in her dimly lit apartment, the document placed before her bearing the ominous title,

"The Terms and Conditions."

The stark reality of her circumstances pressed upon her—a landscape of problems, overdue bills, and the looming threat of unpaid rent. In the face of adversity, with limited options left, she found herself at a crossroads. The weight of her financial struggles and the persistent uncertainty about her future pushed her to a point where waiting for an opportunity was a luxury she could no longer afford.

Gazing at the stark black text on white paper, Meerab felt a mixture of trepidation and determination. It was a contract that represented more than legalities; it held the promise of a lifeline. The terms were both a tether to the unknown and a potential escape from the suffocating grip of her current situation. With a deep breath, Meerab acknowledged the gravity of the decision before her. She couldn't afford to remain idle and wait for circumstances to change. Opportunity had knocked, and it was now or never. The hum of uncertainty hung in the air as she picked up her phone, her fingers dialling the number of her steadfast companion through life's tumultuous journey—Dua.

Dua had been Meerab's unwavering pillar of support since the day Meerab arrived, carrying dreams and aspirations to this new place. The phone rang, each ring resonating with the unspoken bond that had weathered the storms of their lives together. Dua's voice, warm and reassuring, greeted Meerab on the other end of the line. Dua, sensing the urgency in Meerab's voice, listened intently. As Meerab poured out the details of the offer and the weighty decision before her, Dua's support became a lifeline in itself. The friendship forged through thick and thin now faced a new challenge, and Meerab found solace in knowing that, once again, she didn't have to face it alone.

Hello?” Dua said warmly

“Dua” Meerab gasped

Meerab with determination continued, "Dua, I need your advice, your perspective. I'm at a crossroads, and this document... it's something that could change everything."

Meerab” dua continued “Are you crying? Sab theek hai? Kuch hua hai? Do you need something? Mein ajaun?”

Dua showered her questions on Meerab and Meerab sobbed.

Dua, I got an offer, but-”

But?” dua interjected

“I don’t know everything is so complex and complicated. You know Haider is constantly irritating me, and I can’t let this chance go”

Meerab why do you have to let it go? Is something wrong? Haider ko kya masla hai ab?” Dua asked

Meerab told her everything about the meetup with Murtasim and his offer. Dua face palmed herself and started to speak

“Meerab meri Jaan, there is no way you’re letting this go alright? People get such a chance very less often. And you are lucky, stupid girl. Just write whatever he says, take your amount, and finish it off. That’s it!” Dua said excitedly “And rhi baat us cringe Haider ki toh meine tumse 10 dafa kaha hai ke khatam kero ye sab. He doesn’t deserve you, my love. Ask your parents to terminate this fuckin’ engagement, he is a sick man.” She said annoyingly

Dua you’re not getting it yaar! Baat yeh nahi hai”

Phir kya baat hai” dua was confused

THE TERMS”, Meerab finally spilled

The terms?” Dua arched an eyebrow, her voice low.
