“I’ll miss you” Meerab uttered from across the room

Murtasim sat in his expansive home office, surrounded by the familiar scent of leather and mahogany, he was completely absorbed in his work. Papers were strewn across his desk, the glow of his laptop casting a soft light on his focused expression. The faint sound of typing filled the room as he delved deeper into the task at hand.

“Hmm Moonbeam” He said lowly, not looking up for more than a split second.

Meanwhile, Meerab quietly tiptoed into the room, her eyes scanning the shelves and corners as she searched for something. She spotted an old photo album tucked away amidst the books and files. With a curious tilt of her head, she picked it up, her fingers trailing over the worn cover.

"What's this, Murtasim?" Meerab's voice was soft, carrying a hint of intrigue as she held up the album for him to see. However, Murtasim remained immersed in his work, oblivious to her presence.

Undeterred, Meerab approached his desk and gently placed the album in front of him. She knelt down slightly, her eyes wide and expectant as she peered up at his face, waiting for his attention. His hair touselled. His eyes narrowed from focusing, his index finger stroking his moustache. He always blinked his eyes eight to ten seconds apart but today it seemed like he didn’t even had time for that. Reaching for his knee, she slightly moved her fingers over it. Murtasim finally looked up from his work, his features softening as he met her gaze.

"Someone's too busy," Meerab pouted playfully, her lips forming a small pout as she teased him. Murtasim couldn't help but smile at her antics, his eyes reflecting warmth and affection as he took in her presence.

“Moonbeam, you’re so impatient meri jaan” He chuckled

“Do you complain?” She asked, feigning sadness

Exhaling softly, Murtasim closed his laptop with a decisive click and reached out to grab Meerab's arm. With a swift movement, he pulled her closer, and she landed in his lap with a gentle crash, her body molding against his.

“I can never. Ye toh apki karam nawazi hai. Warna ye na cheez apke qaabil nahi hai” He teased, aa dark blush crept up her cheeks.

“Stop it, staff is roaming around” She giggled

“Since when you started caring about the STAFF?” He teased

“Murtasimm” She whinned, “Do you have some time?” She asked raising her eyebrows in amusement.

“All my time is yours Meri Jaan” He smirked as he pecked her lips

Look at this, I Found it there” She gestured towards the shelf, “May I see it?” She asked softly, holding the album in her hand.

“Ese jaan bhi maangengi to deni paregi Meerab” His intense gaze made her heart skip a beat. Meerab turned into his lap as he took the album from her hand.

As Murtasim flipped through the pages of the album, he revealed a treasure trove of memories encapsulated in faded photographs. The yellowed pages held glimpses of his childhood, capturing moments frozen in time. There were snapshots of a young Murtasim, his innocent smile and playful eyes evident even in the monochrome images. Beside his pictures were those of a young girl with radiant eyes and a mischievous grin—Maryam.

Meerab's eyes widened with curiosity and tenderness as she looked at the pictures. Her fingers traced the edges of the photographs gently, as if trying to connect with the past captured in those frames. Murtasim's voice carried a hint of nostalgia as he recounted stories from his childhood, pointing out familiar faces and places in the photographs.
