Blood was everywhere. Flowing like rivers, with bodies drifting through them. The stench of blood was unbearable.

Cale glances around.

This is a dream.

No one is dead yet.

And they won't be.

Because I will save them.

I have to save them.

He looked down at his red stained hands. They were shaking.

"You killed us" a blood stained Basen grabbed his arm.

"You let us die" a dying Lily clawed at his legs.

"How could you do this?" Hands were pulling Cale down, grabbing at anything.

"You could have saved us" He cupped his face with his hands.

"I'm sorry"

"You're useless"

"I'm sorry"

"Trash"

"I'm sorry"

"Why are you aliv-"

Bang!

Cale jerked awake. His back was sweating and he was snaking.

"What was that?" Cale asked glancing at the confused kittens, quickly gaining composure.

"The carriage stopped suddenly" the silver one said cuddling her brother. Their fur was much cleaner and healthier.

He looked out the window and saw the knights making a fuss.

"What's going on?" He called.

"Y-young master, it's just, there are dead bodies in front of the carriage. We identified that they are bandits and are moving them now" a knight replied looking nervous.

"Well, hurry up" there won't be enough time left if this keeps up.

"Yes!" The knight ran away to help move the bodies.

A minute later they were moving again.

"Sigh" if we continue at this speed we won't make it. Cale opened the window "Hurry up. I don't care if you have to stay up all night, I want to sleep on a bed" after we arrive at the inn we will rest for a few days.

The knights expressions worsened and when Cale closed the window they started grumbling to each other.

"He has a comfy carriage to sleep in while we have horses"

"I shouldn't have come when they said we were escorting young master Cale"

"I guess his reputation as trash is true"

They were quietly talking about their master most of the way.

Inside the carriage, Cale was chatting with the kittens.

"I'm hungry" the red kitten complained.

"Me too" Cale said as his stomach grumbled.

"Aren't you the master? Can't you tell the knights to get you food?" The silver kitten retorted.

"Food tastes better the more hungry you are" Cale remembered that the kittens were malnourished before he met them, "I mean, as long as your not too hungry"

The kittens stared at Cale who was avoiding eye contact. They jumped over and laid on his lap to his surprise.

Cale looked down at the two balls of fluff. I wanna pay them. No! It's rude. But maybe a little bit... Cale slowly reached his shaking hand down. The red kitten saw this and rubbed his face against it.
