Chapter 16

Cale stared out the window at the setting sun.

"We are going shopping" he suddenly announced.

[Food?]

"Food?" Cale looked at the red kitten and dragon that were staring at him with sparkling eyes.

"That too but I also want to buy something. Get dressed, we are going soon"

The kittens turned to humans in a puff of smoke and ran to the bathroom.

Cale was walking through the busy streets with a dragon invisible above him and two children on either side, clutching his hands.

"If you see a food you want, don't just run away. You will get swept away by the crowd"

"Yes"

They wandered around for a few minutes, eating street food and snacks, when they arrived in front of a modest looking jewellery store. Cale pushed the door open and a bell dinged. No customers.

"Look around but don't touch anything. When you finish, if you want something, just tell me" Cale told the kids.

They nodded and drifted off to look at bracelets.

Cale glanced at one of the workers who wore a worried face while looking at the kids.

"So many zeros..." Hong was staring at a ruby bracelet with a price of 700,000 gallons on it.

"It's not that much though?" Cale said leaning over the small red head.

Hong looked up at Cale and Cale looked down at Hong.

"..."

"..."

"So you are really rich?" Hong looked back down and fiddled with his fingers.

"I could buy this whole store with a wave of my hand" Cale grinned.

"Woah" On gasped.

"Choose an item you want to get. Ignore the price" Cale declared, ignoring the employees staring at them in shock.

"Okay!"

Cale went over to look at the watches. He studied them carefully before deciding on one.

"I'd like this one wrapped" he pointed at a silver pocket watch with black hands.

"Of course!" A bright lady answered as she picked up the watch.

Cale turned to the necklace section.

He suddenly stopped at a small, simple amethyst necklace with a silver chain.

"I'll take that too"

Three minutes later and they left the shop with six new items.

"Thank you for your purchases!"

"Are you happy with what you've got?"

"Yeah!" Hong held the gold and ruby bracelet he was looking at before.

"Yes" On clutched a silver and sapphire hair piece in the shape of a butterfly.

-It is a satisfactory piece to start my mountain of treasures.

"That's good"

I'm glad I got the kittens to read dragon stories to him. It might not be what real dragons do but it's a good start.

The dragon chose a golden necklace with a black diamond.

I got some gifts for my family too. Cale touched the spatial pouch.
