Cale arrived at puzzle city after the few days of travelling.
"Urghhh, my back hurts from sitting in that carriage for days" Cale complained stretching in the carriage while entering the city gates.
The kittens laid on his lap and the dragon curled around his neck.
[What type of food will there be here? I'm starving] The glutton complained.
[You are always hungry and never shut up about it. I think we got it after the hundredth time] Shouted the loudmouth.
[That's because Cale barely eats! I'm complaining for him too!]
Cale frowned as the voices no one else could hear started yelling at each other 'Shut up, you are all so loud. Glutton, if you stop complaining I will let you eat anything you want me to'
[Yay!]
"Human! I'm hungry" the black dragon said.
Cale sighed, "we will visit the market soon, I will buy you food there"
The two kittens tails wagged and the dragons wings fluttered. On and Hong jumped off his lap and stared out the window with the black dragon floated above them, invisible
"Each house has a rock tower in front of it." On stated studying the new place.
"Yeah, this is the city of rock towers" Cale replied patting On's head.
"Why do they do that?" Hong asked.
Cale started to explain, "In ancient times, this city was supposed to have fallen out of grace of a god. The people of the city made rock towers as an act of worship to reach out to the god. It didn't work, so the rock towers now represent a promise they make to themselves. A goal or a wish of some sort. And once they have their promise granted or gained, they will destroy their rock tower. That's also the reason there are no temples in puzzle city"
"Why would gods abandon the city?" The curious daring asked.
"I don't know. Maybe there was a reason, maybe there could be absolutely none. Gods do whatever they want after all" Cale scoffed.
On stared at him with strange eyes before turning away to continue looking at the scenery.
After arriving at the inn they would be staying at, Cale locked himself in his room making everyone believe he was drinking.
"Dragon, could you please dye my hair black again? We will be getting food and other stuff"
The dragon waved his little paw and Cale's hair faded black again.
"On, Hong, turn into your human forms when we leave. We will be going shopping for your clothes" The kittens tails wagged, happy he didn't forget his promise.
Cale changed into clothes that were simple for nobles, but extravagant for commoners before jumping out the window with the kittens in his arms and dragon floating invisibly nearby.
The two cats jumped out of his arms, turning into humans. Despite their bodies being clean, their clothes were stained with dirt and had holes with patches roughly sewed on. Cale walked towards the main road with the children either side of him holding his hand.
He mixed into the crowd and started trying to find a clothes shop, ignoring the stares.
-Human, I think there is a clothes shop on the left. It's the building with stuffed humans wearing sparkly clothes right?
Cale nodded as he came to a realisation. He should teach the dragon how to read. And being a dragon he needs to learn magic. Dragons should know magic pretty easily, but this dragon is only four and just began using magic a few days ago. I don't know the level a four year old dragon should be at so I need to find a dragon and give the kid to them. Yeah. Although people said finding a dragon is practically impossible, I doubt they had a dragon with them so my chances should be better. If that doesn't work I will search for elves, they worship dragons so he should be safe in their care. First I need to do that, then-
