y/n placed her bag down on the floor, and with a free hand, she supported a sleepy megumi in her arms. the boy was nodding in and out of sleep. she then turned on the lights and observed the place.

futons were rolled up in the corner. the wooden flooring was shiny with anti-slip mats on the ground. toys were kept in boxes and stored in another corner of the room. there were drawings and scribbles pasted on the walls. a long table with many vibrant colour chairs stood in the middle of the room. the washrooms were found on the other side of the room.

turning on the air conditioning, y/n then went to the bean bag area and took a seat. with megumi in her arms, all cuddled up, y/n felt an unknown feeling growing in her. as she sat on the red bean bag, she took in her surroundings once more.

the walls had wallpapers of the alphabet and numbers. there was a picture, framed with all the kids and teachers in it. y/n observed the picture, smiles were plastered on the kids' faces. mimiko was carried by suguru, nanako was carried by satoru. megumi was at the side, with a small frown on his face. his facial features were prominent as he was the only one who wasn't smiling.

a loaded bookshelf of storybooks and picture books stood still in the daycare room. there were many cabinets that y/n had yet to open. she assumed that the daycare materials were all in there. it was quite a simple daycare centre yet it was filled with much vibrancy.

y/n stayed on the beanbag, allowing megumi to cuddle onto her, the little man was exhausted. during then, y/n entertained herself on social media and texted satoru and suguru about the pending situation she was in.

20 minutes later, Megumi woke up. his eyes were trying to adjust to the light. his small hands rubbing onto them y/n held the urge to coo at him. instead, a small smile was on her face as megumi gave up trying to adjust to the light and hence stuffed his face onto her chest.

"good morning megumi."
y/n had greeted softly. the child muttered some incoherent words until he finally gave a proper greeting.

"...m...orning...y/n-sensei."
his voice was soft but audible. y/n threaded her fingers on his head, giving him well-deserved head pats.

"do you want to drink water?"
megumi nodded and finally opened his green eyes. filled with innocence and curiosity, megumi adjusted himself and lay beside y/n.

y/n then got up from the bean bag, "you can go choose something you want to do while i get the water."

megumi nodded and headed straight to the bookshelf. his eyes flickered onto the titles of the books. as they landed on his favourite book, he reached for it with excitement. usually, utahime was the one who read his favourite book but the feeling was different as he knew that y/n was going to read it.

back at y/n, she was trying to figure out how to use the tap. it was quite the complicated kind of taps, not the one she had used at home. reaching for her phone that was in her pocket, she had sent a text to suguru. less than a minute, suguru replied with a voice message on how it works. simultaneously, she could hear satoru energetically saying hi to her.

y/n finally got the drinkable water and placed a straw in the cup for megumi. the boy sat on the beanbag, patiently waiting for y/n. his green eyes which held close resemblance with toji's, was anticipative to y/n's storytelling session.

"thank you y/n-sensei..."
megumi trailed off, handing the storybook to y/n, in exchange for the cup of water.

THE MAN WHO MADE FLOWERS BLOOM.

megumi sat beside y/n, cross-legged. his eyes sparkled slightly as y/n began to open the storybook.

her voice was soft, honey-like as she read the words eloquently.
