prehaps it was due to the stress... or the weather... or the kids.. but y/n was down with a fever.

a horrible one.

the next morning when she woke up, y/n could practically feel her body burning. as much as she tried to get out of her bed to get her phone, she physically couldn't. tiredness devoured her whole.

come on now y/n... get your ass out of bed... to get your phone... but i can't.. wait what am i suppose to do again?

with her thought process all jumbled up, her eyes shut off with her brain out of commission.

just a few more minutes..

y/n internally monologed, getting comfy in her bed. hugging her bolster, y/n ignored the low vibrations of her phone with a worried satosugu and fushiguro pair.

y/n 'few minutes' turned into another 6 whole hours later. she was surprised that she was able to clock in that much sleep during her sickness. speaking of sickness, y/n felt even worse than before. she was sure she couldn't even move her arms even when she tried to.

a low groan left her as she adjusted her eyesight. the curtains were still down hence minimal light entered her room but that didn't mean her room was fully dim. her door was closed but right below the door was a little opening where light could enter from the living room.

the living room light was on.

i'm pretty sure i turned it off last night... huh that's weird... anyways i'm kinda need to pee.

y/n pulled herself together and quite literally rolled out of her bed, landing on the floor with a thud. her back ached but not as bad as the pounding headache she had going on.

exhaling, y/n tried her very best to get up on her feet. her vision was a little blurry. h/c hair messed up and her bolster still magically in her grasp.

right then, y/n could see her door opening. hissing at the sudden brightness, y/n hid her head in her bolster. the woman had yet to take any medication and had basically slept for the whole day.

"why was there a loud sou-- oh you're awake."

it was a familiar voice. y/n could recognise it. with her head fuzzy and her face stuffed in her favourite bolster, y/n couldn't exactly figure out who the owner of the voice was and who exactly invaded her home.

satoru had the keys to her house. but that voice and phrasing were definitely not satoru.

y/n could feel the figure approaching her. peeking her head out from her bolster, y/n finally got the answer to her question.

"to..ji."
her voice hoarse and soft, y/n wondered how toji was able to enter her house. his left hand landed on her shoulder while the other moved away the stray hair stands that clung to her face.

"hi princess, wanna explain how you ended up on the floor?"
toji asked in a teasing voice. easily, he pulled her up from the floor, allowing her to lay her body weight on him as she stood.

his hands secured around her waist as y/n mumbled some incoherent words.

"what did 'ya say?"
toji questioned again. internally, he was worried about y/n. when he had entered her apartment with that stupid blue-eyed teacher giving him her house keys, toji already had a bad feeling about it.

y/n usually reached the daycare early and spent her morning with megumi but today, she wasn't present. even with dialling her phone a million times, he was unable to get a hold of her. the cocky white-haired teacher then suggested toji to go check up on her in her home which toji agreed to.
