Chapter 7: Hiding behind the steel mask

I want to run,
I want to hide
From all the pain
he caused inside.
I want to scream,
I want to cry.
Why can't I tell him goodbye?

I want to move on;
I just can't let go.
I love him more
than he will ever know.
I want to start over,
I want to feel free!
But this pain
will never leave me be.

He hurt me bad;
the pain is deep
From all the promises
he couldn't keep.
All the lies
I heard him say
Are in my head
and just won't fade.

How can I forget him,
leave him behind?
Erase the memories
from my mind?
He doesn't love me,
and he never will.
He will never care
how I feel.

Today was the day Yuta did not take Sumi to school, so she had to take her own way. The entire walk lasted about thirty minutesㅡ Sumi did not care about walking, because the walk would be good for her, actually. She could think about some things in peace, and just relax.

Marblewood High was surrounded by a dense forest filled with tall pines, and spruces. The smell was heavenly as if you had just entered a forest paradise. Walking at a leisurely pace, Sumi lifted her long skirt as she walked through the collapsed tree trunks. The laughter of approaching students echoed through the forest; she sighed at the thought of walking through the busy corridor. Heading towards the main door, Sumi did not see her friends anywhere, so that meant they had not arrived yet.

The hallway was not yet as full as Sumi thought it would be, for she was walking casually while a handful of students were running off to class to study early.

Getting to her locker, Sumi started taking off her jacketㅡ not going to lie, November mornings were not the warmestㅡand her bag ended up at the bottom of the locker. Sumi searched it for a pen, although, it was nowhere to be found. Wondering if she had lost it along the way, a touch on her left shoulder brought her out of her thoughts.

"Is this what you are looking for?" Jiwoong smiled flirtatiously, holding the pen, she was looking for in his hand within her sight.

"Thanks." She replied briefly, observing the space behind, and under the boy's legs. It must have fallen out on the way here. Frowning, the girl began to look at the bag from the bottom, finding the reason. The hole was big enough that something else could also fall out.

"You have to stitch it up."
The boy pointed as Sumi slung her bag over her shoulder.

"I know." She announced, pushing her glasses up her nose before closing her lockerㅡ wanting to go straight to class. Jiwoong suddenly stood in her way, crossing his arms over his chest.
