"I admit,
I was afraid
to love.
Not just love,
but to love her.
For she was a stunning mystery. She carried things
deep inside her that no one
has yet to understand,
and I,
I was afraid to fail,
like the others.

She was the ocean
and I was just a boy
who loved the waves
but was completely
terrified to
swim."

"Why are you doing this?"  Donghyuck whined from his bed as he watched two women hang Christmas lights on the window.

"Since you will not be leaving the hospital for two days, and today is Christmas Eveㅡ  we might as well have it here." Mrs. Lee stated as a matter of fact.

"You could spend it cozy at home, and not with me in here. I will be fine on my own."

"Do not be ridiculous, Hyuck." Sumi threatened. "We are spending this day together whether you like it, or not. At home, at the hospitalㅡ it does not matter."

Both women moved away from the window to admire their work. Blue lights were attached to the curtains, and hung in an outline, creating a much cozier atmosphere which Sumi was very proud of.

"Now for the Christmas tree." Mrs. Lee added, unwrapping the artificial tree from the foil. She placed it on the bed while Sumi prepared all the decorations nearby.

"Guess who is here!" A sudden scream made everyone look towards the door at the same time to see Minjae with hiding Yuta right behind her.

"Merry Christmas, everyone." They both announced, hugging each person individually. "We wanted to visit you before we stay at home with our families." Minjae explained with a pout.

"We have presents." Yuta said, waving the colorful packages in the air like a little kid.

"You did not have to." Sumi laughed, rolling her eyes playfully.

"You know we love you, and we need to shower you with love." Minjae announced, shaking Sumi by the shoulders. "And now we also have a new person in the group, so..."

"For you, dude." Yuta chuckled as he handed Donghyuck two boxes wrapped in paper.

"Really? For me?" He asked, surprised, feeling tears stinging his eyes, because no one else except his grandmother had ever given him gifts.

"Yeah. You are part of our 'gang' now." Yuta joked, patting the boy gently on the back.

"B-but I have nothing for you, guys. None of you." Donghyuck explained, lowering his head in disappointment.

Sumi walked over to the bed, sitting on the edge, so she could lean towards the boy, placing a kiss on his  head. "You are the gift, yourself."

"And that you woke up from the coma." Mrs. Lee added, looking fondly at her grandson.
