It was currently 11am, Beth was quietly getting herself ready for the game. Viv was ruled out due to illness, obviously she was devastated but she knew it was best, over the past few days Viv had developed a bad cold, she coughed so much her ribs were so sore, her nose was running like a tap, her head was killing, she wanted nothing more than to be in bed feeling sorry for herself, but she wanted to go watch her girlfriend play football. When Beth was ready, she gently shook Viv, "Hey beautiful, I'm leaving now, I'll see you later." Beth whispered to a sleepy Viv, "Wait, I'm coming with you." Viv said sleepily her voice drained and dry, Beth looked at her sympathetically, "Baby girl, you're not well, at all. I would much rather you stay home in a warm place than come and watch on a freezing cold football pitch." Beth placed a kiss on her forehead and stood up, Viv grabbed her hand, "Wait 5 minutes, I'll get changed, brush my teeth and we'll leave." Viv mumbled, Beth sighed knowing that this wasn't up for discussion, "Do you want me to make you tea? I'll put it in a flask?" Beth asked, "Yes please." Viv smiled.

Beth went into the kitchen, made Viv a cup of tea, along with some paracetamol and made room in her bag for a blanket and hot water bottle which she could fill up in the changing room and take out to Viv. When Viv came down into the kitchen she looked rough, Beth knew better than to say anything so she just stayed quiet, "Ready?" Viv questioned, Beth nodded her head, Viv grabbed her coat, "You are either wearing boots or you ain't coming." Beth stated, Viv rolled her eyes, "Don't you roll your eyes at me, I'm only fussing because I care about you." Beth said her tone in voice changing, Viv put her boots on and then they left for the Emirates.

When they pulled up at the Emirates, there was a tension between the two of them, Viv knew that Beth was right but still wanted to be there. Beth got out of the car with tears in her eyes and just headed straight inside, Viv took the keys and locked the car door.

Beth walked in straight to the toilets, where she burst into tears, Beth didn't care if Viv was at the game or not, she wanted Viv to feel better and by being on the side of a football pitch at the beginning of winter was not the way to get better. When the toilet door opened Steph walked inside, "Aw my baby, what's wrong?" Steph asked, "Viv." Was all Beth said, Steph pulled Viv in closer, "What's she done?" Beth asked, "I want her to get better, it's like she doesn't care Steph, it's like she doesn't want my help, it's like she doesn't want to listen, I'm trying so hard Steph to make her realise that sitting on the side of a football pitch is not okay when you're ill, last night she was up all night coughing, her head was in pain, her ribs were hurting her and the box of tissues on her beside cabinet were empty." Beth cried into Steph's chest, "Beth, it's evident how much she cares for you and values your opinion, but I think that she wants to watch you, she wants be supportive of you, she couldn't give flying fuck if it makes her worse off, she wants to watch you thrive, she doesn't care about the consequences, she loves you Beth." Steph rubbed her hand up and down Beth's back when the door opened for a second time, this time it was not the person that Beth wanted to see right this second.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Viv asked concerned, "I'll leave you two alone.", Steph smiled sympathetically, "Be honest with her Beth." Steph whispered into her ear before letting Beth go. Viv took over from Steph and wrapped her arms around Beth's waist, "Talk to me." Viv whispered as she placed a kiss onto Beth's forehead, "You. You don't realise what you're doing is harming you. I want you to get better and right now Viv, you're doing the opposite, it's like everything I say you do the opposite." Beth cried into her girlfriends chest, Viv was fighting back tears, "I'm sorry. I want to support you, I couldn't care less if it affects me." Viv whispered into Beth's hair, "I know, I know, Steph said the same." Beth whispered, Viv moved one of her arms, brought Beth's head up to face hers, she wiped away the tears that Beth had cried, "I hate that I'm the reason you're upset." Viv mumbled as she rested her forehead against Beth's, "We've sorted that, don't worry, we'll be fine." Beth whispered, she placed a kiss onto Viv's lips, "I love you." Viv mumbled into the kiss, "I love you more." Beth giggled against Vivs lips, "You better go warm up." Viv smiled, "I'm sat with your Dad." Beth nodded her head, "I'll be up before the game starts with a blanket and a hot water bottle, you say no and you'll be sat in the changing room for the full game." Beth stated, "Okay." Viv smiled, "I want a kiss before I go." Beth added, Viv placed a kiss on her lips before they broke apart.

Like Beth said she would, she came up before the game with a blanket and a hot water bottle, she wrapped Viv up all snug, "Dad, look after her for me." Beth smiled at her Dad, "Yeah okay darling." Rich giggled, Viv rolled her eyes and laughed, "Good luck." Rich smiled, Beth thanked her father before looking at her girlfriend, "Good luck my precious girl." Viv smiled, Beth leaned her head down for Viv to give her a kiss like they did before every game since Beth's ACL, "See you later." Viv smiled.

During the game, Viv and Rich began talking, "Beth's the happiest girl since you've been in her life, I can't thank you enough, after the year you've both had, from her ACL to yours, to June passing, you and Liv have been rocks to this family, I'll forever be grateful for you Vivianne." Rich smiled, Viv had tears in her eyes, "It means a lot that you think I make Beth's the happiest girl, you all deserve the world after the year you've had. After Lisa and I spilt, I genuinely thought Arsenal would become a place where I became lonely, but Beth was my light and made it my home again, she's my world." Viv smiled, Rich pulled her in for a hug, he placed a kiss to her head, "You're part of our family now Viv." He smiled, "It means the world that you've accepted me into it." Viv smiled, in that moment they hadn't realised that the half time whistle had gone and Beth was now stood behind them, "We having a nice heart to heart?" Beth asked, Rich and Viv both laughed, "We were, you okay?" Viv asked, Beth nodded her head, "Jonas wants to know if you want a blanket and another hot water bottle? And that you've got plenty of layers on? He said that Katie's coat and jumper are available." Beth laughed, Viv did too, "I'll take the hot water bottle, do you want the other blanket?" Viv asked Rich, "It wouldn't go a miss." Rich smiled, "Hand me the other hot water bottle then I can fill them both up." Beth smiled, Viv did and then Beth left her Dad and girlfriend talking. When she returned she placed a hot water bottle inside in her girlfriends blanket, "I want this level of treatment if I'm ill." Beth teased, "You know you would get it, in fact you get this level of treatment when your fit and healthy and you get it even more when your not." Viv laughed, "Mhm." Beth smiled as she handed her dad the blanket and hot water bottle, "Come down after the match?" Beth asked, Viv nodded her head, "I best be back, see you in a bit." Beth smiled, she hugged her father and then looked at Viv, she placed a kiss onto her lips before leaving.

Arsenal ended up winning 3-0, Viv and Rich headed down towards the changing rooms, Rich said his good bye to Viv and left, Viv made her way into the changing room, all the girls cheering around the changing room, "Viv!" Beth smiled, "Hey beautiful." Viv smiled back, Viv pulled her in close and placed a kiss to her forehead, "Trots op jou." Viv whispered loud enough for Beth to hear, "Go sit down." Beth whispered, Viv sat down on Beth's seat, "I'm going to get changed, then we're going home, it's not up for discussion." Beth whisper shouted, "Okay." Viv coughed, she held her ribs whilst doing so, Beth looked at her sympathetically.

When they left there fans outside, Viv took her time and spoke to each of them, "Viv how come you didn't play?" A fan asked, "Ruled out due to illness, it's nothing major, just a bad cold." Viv explained, Beth was stood by her side and signed things too, "You guys are so cute." A fan smiled at the two, Beth wrapped her arm around Viv, "Aren't we just." Beth laughed, Viv looked so lovingly at her, "Stop." Beth whispered into her ear "What?" Viv whispered, "You know what."

When they arrived home, Viv sat on the sofa, she took her shoes and coat off and tossed them to the side, she pulled her blanket up over her and turned the TV on, Beth came in and began to move Viv's things, "I'll do it, just give me 5." Viv coughed, Beth shook her head and put Viv's things away and went into the kitchen, she made herself and Viv tea, she filled the hot water bottle up and went into the living room, she placed the teas on the coffee table, Beth turned on the fire and then sat on the sofa.

She pulled Viv into her arms, she ran her hand through Viv's hair, Viv sat up suddenly causing Beth to be confused, "I'm sorry for making you cry this morning, I hate the fact that I'm reason you were sad." Viv mumbled, "It's okay, we've moved past it, we'll be fine baby girl." Beth reassured and pulling her girlfriend in, "I love you." Beth smiled, "I love you more my precious." Viv smiled as she rested her head onto Beth's chest, Beth ran a hand through her hair and the other one rubbed her back up and down ever so slightly, Viv drifted off to sleep, soon followed by Beth.
