Beth was heartbroken, after the year she had she was looking forward to the Olympics next year, but that wasn't going to happen, she knew that there always going to be fine lines between the Netherlands and England then Vivianne Miedema sealed the fate of the Netherlands. Beth was sitting on the sofa of her shared home with her beloved girlfriend, deep down underneath the heartbreak Beth was so proud of Viv. Viv wouldn't be home until Thursday night that gave Beth 24 hours for her to calm down. In that 24 hours she picked up her puppy and spent time walking her and cuddling up on the sofa.
24 hours later when Viv landed in London, she got her bags and headed to her car and began to drive home. On the way home from the airport Viv went to the shops and got Beth a bunch of white roses, her favourite, her favourite chocolate and a teddy which said I love you.
Viv finally got home, she took her bag from the boot of the car and grabbed the gifts which she brought her, she let herself in through the front door, placed her bag down in the hallway, took her coat and shoes off and then went into the living room where her beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed girlfriend was laying down on the sofa with their puppy.
"Hey baby." Viv smiled as she walked around the sofa.
Beth stood and jumped into Viv's arms, she wrapped her arms around Viv's neck and her legs around her waist, "I missed you." Viv smiled
"I missed you too baby girl." Beth smiled
Viv placed her down and then began to make a fuss of her puppy, "Have you been good for Mum?" Viv asked as she stroked the puppy.
"You've been good as gold." Beth responded.
Viv stood up and hugged Beth tightly, god they had both missed being with each other, they missed being around each other, they missed falling asleep with each other, they missed waking up with each other, but more importantly they missed the feeling of comfort which they both provided each other, not matter if they were on the pitch or on the gym.
Viv broke free from the hug and went back to the hallway, Beth was confused, but shook it off. When Viv returned with the flowers in her hair, the chocolates and the teddy Beth were nearly in tears, "This is a I'm sorry for knocking you out of the Olympics gift." Viv smiled
Beth walked over to her and placed a kiss to her lips, "I'm sorry baby." Viv whispered.
"I know you are a baby, it'll hurt for some time, but I'm very proud of you and I'll be your number 1 fan." Beth smiled.
Viv placed a kiss on Beth's lips, "Do you wanna go for dinner tonight?" Beth asked, "We can celebrate you going to the Olympics?"
Beth smiled, she looked at her watch it was only 6 o'clock, "We don't have too, we can stay here and watch movies and cuddle." Viv mumbled as placed her head to Beth's
"Why don't we go to Nando's?" Beth suggested
"I'd be quite happy to stay in and cuddle." Viv smiled.
"Why?" Beth questioned
"Because I feel guilty that we can't celebrate together." Viv mumbled
Beth sighed, she always knew that would be the case, Viv is very humble and would much rather comfort her than go out to celebrate her own wins, "Viv, the highs and lows of football come so close together, you did something which you can celebrate, so let's!"
Viv didn't know what to say what or do, she really had the most amazing girlfriend.
"Thank you beautiful." Viv managed to get out.
Beth was standing in the kitchen sorting out the flowers while Viv was unpacking her clothes from camp and then also placed a wash on with her dirty clothes from the week. While Beth was putting the flowers in a vase, Viv wrapped her arms around Viv's waist, she placed a kiss the crook of Beth's neck.
It was now 7:30 Viv had now changed into a pair of blue skinny jeans with a black hoodie, beige teddy bear coat and some black trainers, Beth had also changed into some blue skinny jeans, with a black hoodie, white trainers and a black and white teddy bear coat.
Beth drove which was usual but wanted nothing more than to show her girlfriend that she deserved the treatment she was getting, even if it had come at the expense of her being knocked out of the Olympics. The whole way there Beth had her hand on Viv's thigh and stroked circles every now and again Beth would place kisses to Viv's hand which was resting on the top.
When they arrived at Nando's, they were seated at a table in the corner of the room, they were sitting opposite each other talking about anything and everything, laughing and smiling happy.
After their food arrived they ate in a comfortable silence, Viv broke the silence, "Beth I want you to know I'm really sorry about knocking you out of the Olympics, but I want you to know that everything I do going forward, I do for you, your family and your team."
Beth looked as if she could cry, she put her fork down and took Viv's hand in hers, "I hope you know I'd do the same for you." Beth whispered as kissed Viv's hand.
Viv nodded her head smiled at Beth, "I love you." Beth smiled.
Ik hou nog meer van je." Viv whispered back... (I love you more)
Later that night when they arrived home, Beth and Viv put their pajamas, fed Myle and then snuggled on the sofa, a thick knit blanket keeping them warm, whilst they're fire was on and the orange flame was roaring. Beth placed her head on Viv's chest, Beth placed one of her hands on Viv's chest while Viv began to run her hand through Beth's hair. Nothing in this world would change the way they left about each other.
