Operation

Beth and Viv were currently at the Arsenal training ground, in the gym doing their rehab programme and following it exactly. Beth was making so much progress in her recovery, Viv was so proud of her and how far she had come in her rehab, Viv on the other hand was making progress but not as fast as Beth, this is raised questions amongst the medics and between Beth and Viv. Viv was called into a meeting with the medics, she had an hour before the meeting actually started so she wanted to find Beth and ask her to come with her. After looking around the ground for a good 15 minutes she found Beth, kicking the ball into the goals, full pelt, you could see by the passion in her body how much she wanted to be there. "Beth!" Viv shouted from across the field, Beth turned around to see her girlfriend, "Yeah bubs?" Beth smiled her gorgeous grin at her, "I've got a meeting with the medics, can you come?" Viv asked, "Of course I can. What time?" "The meeting starts in 45 minutes," Beth nodded her head and took a gulp of her water, "Whatever it is, we'll get through this, together." Beth reassured an anxious Viv, Viv nodded her head and just began to walk inside towards the meeting room, "Viv come here." Beth called after her, Viv stopped dead in her tracks and waited for Beth to catch up, Beth embraced Viv in a tight and loving hug, "I love you," Beth whispered, "I love you too." Beth leant up to kiss Viv's lips and made their way to the meeting room. 

The meeting started and Viv's legs began to shake, Beth placed a hand on Viv's knee to calm her down, this seemed to work, "Now Viv, as we all know you have been making good progress in your recovery, however we think you need to under go another operation to remove some tissue to improve your rehab." The medic spoke, "If that's what you think is best then..." Viv trailed off, Beth saw her girlfriend begin to tear up, Beth leaned into Viv's shoulder, "You've got this my strong girl, I'll be with you every single step of the way, I love you." Beth whispered, Viv smiled. The meeting went on a little longer explaining the ins and outs of what would be happening in Viv's surgery. The surgery would be in a week so that Viv had time to process what was going on. 

When they got in Viv went straight up the stairs and laid in her bed, Beth knew that Viv was upset, so she did what she knew would comfort her, Beth made her a cup of tea and got some of her favourite chocolate that was laying in the cupboard, then went upstairs. Beth knocked the door gently and then opened it, "Here you are baby," Beth said as Viv sat herself up against the headboard, and then Beth handed her the tea and her favourite chocolate, Beth placed one arm on Viv's leg and other arm around her shoulder, "I know that this sucks, but it will help you in the long run. I'm going to be with you every step, I'm not going to leave your side. You are incredibly strong and I'm so proud of you and your recovery so far and this is another hurdle which we can overcome. You've got this baby." Beth smiled, Viv smiled back and placed her tea on the bedside table, then hugged Beth, "I know it's just frustrating, but at least I've got you, I love you." Viv smiled. 

The week flew by, it was the day of Viv's operation, as they got to the hospital to check Viv in she was sent straight to a room for her own closely followed by Beth, and of course the doctor. The doctor made sure that Viv was changed into her hospital gown on and then left to for Viv to change and he would be back before the operation. Time ticked over really slowly causing Viv to over think, "Beth, I'm scared." Viv mumbled out to her girlfriend who was sat next to her scrolling through her phone, Beth moved in her chair so she could face Viv, she took Vivs hand in hers and with the free hand placed it on Vivs leg, "Baby, I promise you, what ever the out come we will get through it. I will be here, my dad will be here, my brother and Liv, we have all got you, none of us are going anywhere." Beth tried to reassure her, "Beth, seriously, what if I can't play again." Viv cried, Beth stood up and sat herself down on the side of Beth's bed, she wrapped her arms around Vivs neck and kept on hand on her tigh, "If that's the case then which I doubt it will be, then we'll figure it out, I'll be with you whatever, I love you." Beth smiled and kissed Vivs forehead, Viv snuggled into her chest deeper, "I'm sorry." Viv said, "Don't apologize, it's completely normal." Beth played with Viv's hair gently while Viv went in for her op.

When Viv was in the theatre be operated on, Beth went into the cafe to get herself some coffee while she waited for Viv's op. It wasn't a long op, it was going to take about 45 minutes to an hour, but the whole time Beth was anxious just waiting for her girlfriend to come out of surgery.

As time ticked over, Viv was finally out of surgery, "Viv, how are you feeling?" Beth asked as soon as she saw her, "I'm okay, better now I've seen your face." Viv smiled and spoke groggily, Beth blushed and made Viv giggle.

The next couple of hours Beth and Viv spent watching something on Vivs phone, "Beth, I love you." Viv whispered, "Not as much as I love you." Beth smiled and kissed Viv.

A few more hours later, it was now about 9:30 and Viv was getting discharged from hospital. Beth helped Viv in anyway she could, she carried Vivs bags to the car and then helped her get in and then drove them back to Viv's apartment which didn't have stairs unlike Beth's house. When they arrived home Beth immediately helped Viv out of the car and grabbed her bags before going into the lift.

When they were back in the flat Viv sat down on the sofa, Beth had gone into the kitchen to grab something to eat, "Beth!" Viv shouted, Beth ran into the living room thinking something was wrong, "Jesus Christ Vivianne!" Beth laughed, "I wanted cuddles." Viv grinned cheekily, Beth sat on the sofa, wrapped her arm around her girlfriend and kissed the crown of her head.
