Arrived In Frankfurt

2 days before school reunion (Present day)

Alexis

Deana met her off the train and drove her to her apartment.
"So how are we doing this?" She asked her friend.
"I thought we would turn up fashionably late. That way we can give them the shock of their lives." Deana laughed.
"Do you know he's going to be there, for certain?"
"Michael asked Sasha who asked David who asked Mrs..."
"OK," She laughed. "I get it, just a yes or no will suffice."
"Yes. He replied late but he's coming."

There were two days to the reunion and she came up with an idea.
"You're crazy." Deana laughed as she watched her friend sit and backcomb a wig into a frizzy nest. She had put her glasses in, just in case.
"They are expecting me to still be a freak. So I'll give them the freak, but then in front of them all I'll transform." She turned and lifted her t-shirt.
"F'*k Alexis. That must have hurt." Her friend ran her fingers over her back.
"Mind over matter. Meditated through it." She pulled her top back down.

Going into her suitcase she pulled out the dress she was going to wear.
"Can I say something?" Deana passed her a clothes hanger. "That isn't the type of dress you would associate with the old Alexis."
"That's why I brought this too." She pulled out something that resembled a boiler suit. "I wear this over the top then when everyone has had their fill of laughter I remove it and the glasses and the wig. I just hope Jacob..."
Her friend hugged her.
"Do you....You know... Love him."
"I don't know. He kissed me my last day here and it was amazing. I'll never forget it. I've never kissed anyone since. But there's this group of guys and there's one... His name is Jacob too. He makes me tingle, just by looking at me."
Deana laughed.

Once unpacked he went into the kitchen, where he found his mom preparing some dinner.
"Didn't think you would be going to this reunion." She said washing her hands before making him a coffee. "What changed your mind?"
"I found out someone was going who I really need to see. I've been looking for them for a few years. They moved to Berlin when they finished school."
"Is that all?"
His mom's smiling eyes looked at him.
"Yes." He hid his grin.

He rang around a few of his friends and arranged to meet them for drinks.
Most of them were going to the reunion.
"I've got to go." One said. "Need to see if the freak goes."
"Hey man, grow up already. You really think she deserved to be bullied." He took a drink from his beer.
"Did you have a thing for her back then? You always defended her." Another friend asked.
"Believe it or not yeah I did. Her soul was beautiful. I even kissed her."
His friend choked on his beer.
"Were you insane?"
"No and boy that girl could kiss. I can't wait to see her again."
His friends all looked at him as if he was joking.
"What for another kiss?"
"Maybe. Why not?"
"Bro you are surrounded by fuckin beautiful girls. But you want to kiss her... again."
He finished his beer and went to the bar leaving his friends bewildered.
