Kai leaned against the passenger side of Bee, waiting outside of Gould investments office. Kai had been there several times since Ro started her undercover work. He had never been inside – he suspected that somebody like him wouldn't be allowed through the doors. Besides, Kai wanted to keep up appearance was "Karlee's secret boyfriend". Kai really didn't want to put his face out there and meet Dylan Gould. From what Ro had told him about Gould, Kai never wanted to meet him.
Kai was in uniform still. He normally wouldn't have gone to pick up Ro in uniform, but he did have to go back to base with Ro. His jacket was open and he purposely hid his last name from the people who were walking away from the offices for the day. Kai glanced back at Bee – they had a talk about what happened in the MIddle East, and Bee was upset with Kai for calling him out for the damages and getting Mearing involved.
Kai pushed himself away from the Camaro when he heard Ro coming out of the building. Exiting the building with her was Dylan Gould and the new employee Andrew Roh. Ro was being civil, as she always was with Gould and everything who worked for him.
Kai caught himself before he could even say Ro's name. "Karlee," he called out. Ro turned, seeing not just Kai standing there. Bee was sitting by the sidewalk, waiting to take Ro home for the day. Ro smiled at Dylan and Andrew before hurrying off towards her boyfriend.
Kai saw the way Gould was looking at his girlfriend, so as soon as Ro approached, he kissed her. Ro was a bit shocked to see that Kai would kiss her in public like this. Now, Kai didn't mind PDA, but this was in front of Dylan's building, in front of Dylan Gould.
"Kai." Ro placed her hands on his chest as Kai's hand wrapped around her back.
"I love you."
"He's staring, isn't he?" Kai nodded. "And he's walking over here?" Ro kept her voice low. Kai nodded once.
Ro turned aronud as Dylan and Andrew were approaching. Andrew was shocked to see that Karlee was telling the truth about her boyfriend. What he also didn't expect to see was the army uniform, or the title of captain with the stripes. "Dylan, this is my boyfriend, Kai Lee." Ro lied about his last name – just due to the fact that Ro didn't want Dylan to do research about her boyfriend. "Baby, this is my boss, Dylan Gould. And that's Andrew Roh, the new guy I was telling you about." Ro explained.
Kai gave Dylan a smile. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Gould," Kai shook Dylan's hand, maybe squeezing his hand a little harder than he would have normally. "Karlee has told me all about you. She really adores working for you and your company." Kai lied.
"Well, I am grateful for Karlee, really helped me out in a time of need." Dylan said with a smile.
Like Ro told Kai before, never to trust a Dylan Gould smile, and right now, Kai could see right through it.
"Karlee is quite fantastic, isn't she?"
"She quite is. My Dutchess."
Kai stared at Dylan before slowly turning his head to Ro. Ro was playing with the necklace Kai gave her for their fifth anniversary. Ro had failed to mention that little tidbit of information. "Nicknames?" Ro gave him a sympathetic smile. "Howadorable." Kai said through clenched teeth.
