Kai put the bag on his back as he climbed out of the car. Van pushed the seat forward, getting out and helping Olive out. Andrew climbed out on Epps' side. Kai stepped forward, looking up at the sky – it was a mess up in the sky as well as on the ground. There were Decepticons falling about but the smoke was what Kai noticed first. The team started to walk towards Chicago as people took off the way they had just come. Kai watched as Epps jogged in front of them.
Kai pulled his bag forward, opening it to pass over two guns. He gave them to Olive and Van. Olive looked down at the handgun before looking back at her brother. He nodded. "This isn't like the last two times, guys, you'll have to shoot them, even if you think it won't do anything." Kai said.
Van pulled back on the gun, turning off the safety. He placed it behind his back. "Bring it on. I'm tired of these fucking Decepticons." Van said.
As the team started to head into Chicago, they watched as planes tried to enter to gain sight of what was happening inside. They were shot down instantly.
"My God." Epps said.
"We came here to find her in the middle of all that?" One of the ex-soldiers asked.
"Hey, we really goin' out here, Epps?" Another asked.
"I'm not goin' in there."
"No one's goin' in."
Kai turned his head to Epps. "If you think I'm leaving without Ro, you're joking. I'm going in. If no one wants to come with, fine, I'll do it on my own." Kai stated as he walked off without the team.
"You're gonna get yourself killed, Kai!" Kai ignored Epps. He was going to get to Ro – again, if it was the last thing he did. "Is that what you want? Is that what you want?" Epps ran after Kai. "You came all the way out here to get yourself killed? Huh?" Epps grabbed the back of his backpack, yanking him back. Kai stumbled backward. "Listen to what I'm sayin', Kai."
Kai turned to face Epps. "And listen to me, I said it back in the car, if it's the last thing I do, so be it. But I'm getting Ro." Kai yanked the backpack from Epps' grasp. "I don't care if you follow."
"Listen." Epps grabbed his shoulder, spinning towards him once again. "If you go in this buildin', that's if she's even still alive, there's no way you're gonna be able to reach her!" Epps snapped.
Kai stopped. "What do you suggest I do then? Just let the Decepticon keep her? Keep her and our child? I'm not doing that, Bobby."
"It's over, Kai." Kai shook his head. "I'm sorry, but it's over."
"It's not."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Incoming!" One of the soldiers shouted. Kai turned around in time for Epps to grab him as a Decepticon shot in their direction. Olive felt Andrew grab her and pull her off to the side to protect her. Kai and Epps fell to the ground as they ran back towards the cars. Kai covered his face as the bullet flew around him. The Decepticon shot some kind of wave, killing anyone in its line instantly. The Decepticon flew down close to where Epps and Kai were.
