Four years later....
Jennie woke up to the sound of her alarm. She growled tired and decided to take a few more minutes. After all, it was Friday and she knew she didn't have much to do at work. A few minutes later, a hand was tugging onto her hair. She opened her eyes lazily and smiled at the sight in front of her. His smile gave the energy Jennie needed, let's not talk about his eyes, she could get lost in them. She smiled back and gave him kisses all over his face.
"Good morning baby, did you sleep well?" Jennie caressed his soft cheek. "You ready for today? We got a lot going on today"
"Yes mama" he hugged her and Jennie simply hugged him back. He was her world, the most important person in her life. Jennie would ask herself how could someone so small be so important to her. She was happy, all she needed was him.
After Jennie and Jisoo traveled to New Zealand, Jennie decided to stay and start somewhere fresh. She missed living there; she missed the culture, and the people. At first Jisoo was sad that her best friend, no, more like her sister had decided to stay in New Zealand. But Jisoo understood, she knew that Jennie was heartbroken. Jisoo hadn't seen Jennie smile up until the point where they were walking down the streets that Jennie used to walk as a kid. Jennie told Jisoo many stories from when she was a kid and took her to all the places she used to frequent. Jisoo knew that Jennie needed the change, she needed to have a fresh start.
"Henry, baby, it's time to go honey" Jennie finished getting ready and headed towards the living room to pick up Henry's things and get his bag ready. "You ready baby?"
"Yeah" Henry said distracted as he kept playing with his toys
"Come on babe, you can bring your toys" Jennie got everything she needed and they walked out the door.
Jennie arrived to Henry's daycare and she walked in holding his hand. As soon as they got into Henry's classroom, he ran up to go grab more toys. Jennie simply laughed and smiled and she saw him play.
It was only a few months ago that Henry refused to stay a daycare. Jennie had a nanny who watched Henry at home while she was at work. But Jennie knew it was time for Henry to start interacting with kids his age. It was hard for both when Henry started going to daycare because Jennie wasn't used to having Henry at home. There were days that she could go home early and he would be at home.
Now that he had a set schedule, she had to get used to not seeing all the time. But Jennie knew that he was growing up, that was part of life. Jennie would cherish every moment she had with Henry, because he was the love of her life, he was her son.
After dropping Henry off she headed to her office, she walked in and was greeted with a coffee from her assistant
"Umm thanks for the coffee Irene" she smiled at her after taking a sip
"You're welcome Jen, I left a couple sticky notes from new patients in your office"
"Thank you, I shouldn't have busy schedule right?"
"No, you should be clear a few hours early today" She smiled at Jennie
"Great, that means both of us will have an early out to start our weekend" Jennie smiled once again and walked to her office to start her day.
The plan was to get out and pick up Henry from daycare to spend the day with him, but that plan did not go through. Jennie had two new intakes and a walk-in. Jennie didn't really like intakes and walk-ins because those always took long.
Jennie looked at her clock, 5:30pm. She finished entering her notes and shut her laptop down. She picked up her bag and locked the door behind her. Jennie was surprised to see Irene still there.
"Irene, you were supposed to leave hours ago"
"No, it didn't feel right to leave you here with Mr. Fritz" Jennie rolled her eyes as she heard that name
"Don't even get me started with Mr. Fritz"
"Sorry, I told him multiple times that you were completely booked, but he insisted. You know how needed he is" Both of the laughed a bit knowing how Mr. Fritz was. After the small talk, both left and Jennie headed towards Henry's daycare to pick him up.
After picking him up, they had dinner at a restaurant that was near her apartment. It was Friday and Jennie didn't feel like cooking so she decided to go a restaurant. After they got home, Jennie spend time playing with Henry, chancing him around the apartment and enjoying his laugh. Jennie then gave Henry a bath and got him ready for bed. Both Jennie and Henry loved their routine. Daycare, dinner, playtime, bath, and of course, reading Henry and book before bed. Jennie kissed Henry goodnight after he fell asleep. She looked at him a few seconds then turned the lights off, leaving his nightlight on. Jennie closed the door behind her and went to her room to change into comfortable clothes.
After she got rid of her work cloths and got into some shorts and an oversized t-shirt, she walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine from inside the fridge and a wine glass. Jennie placed the baby camera on the coffee table to keep an eye on Henry in case he woke up. Henry slept mostly through the night, but better safe than sorry.
Jennie poured some wine into her wine glass and started enjoying her wine as she found something to watch on TV. Jennie spent a couple hours watching TV, not paying much attention. She finished her second glass of wine. Jennie looked at the clock, it was past midnight. She poured another glass of wine picked up her phone. She look through her recent calls and dial a familiar number.
"Hey, you wanna come over?" She said taking a sip of her wine.
