"Remember that you're faster than all these guys, all you have to do is hit the ball and run as fast as you can. Just take a deep breath, stay calm, and hit it hard." Lisa finished giving Henry a pep talk, he simply nodded and listened carefully.
"You can do it son, show them who you are." The tall girl said as she fixed his uniform.
"Henry Manobal-Kim." He said smiling proudly.
Henry walked to the designated area and waited anxiously for the pitcher to throw the ball.
The pitcher threw the first ball, a curved ball. Henry tried hitting it but missed. The referee yelled strike.
Lisa looked at him and moved her hands downward, telling him to stay calm and take his time. The young man nodded and took a deep breath.
Once again, he waited for the pitcher to throw the ball, it was another curve ball. This time he didn't rush, he waited painfully until the right moment.
It was a loud hit; it could be heard throughout the entire field. Both him and Lisa opened their eyes wide open, realizing what just had happened.
"Run son! Come on Henry!" Lisa yelled once she saw the ball fly across the field. Henry ran as fast as he could towards first base.
Once he got to first base, he continued running towards second base, and from the second, he ran towards third base.
Lisa yelled at him, telling him to stay in third base, but the young man didn't listen. He was going to show everyone who he was and how fast he was.
Lisa jumped happily as she saw her son running towards the home base.
"Looks like I missed something." The brunette girl said as she came back from buying some snacks.
"Babe, I can't believe you missed it. Henry did so good."
"Oh no, I didn't miss a single thing, I saw him from a distance. But I almost had a heart attack after I heard you yelling. Don't scare me like that if you don't want your son to come out before his due date."
"We only have one month left before our precious little boy will be here. It doesn't matter if he comes a bit early."
"You say that now Lisa Manobal but wait until we have a newborn and a baby girl under three running around the house. Be thankful that Henry is old enough to take care of himself." Jennie laughed when she saw the black-haired girl frowning her eyebrows as she realized Jennie was right.
"Everything will be fine baby, trust me."
"If you say so, then here, here's your daughter." Jennie handed her the little girl who was next to her. Mia raised her arms towards Lisa who picked her up as soon as she saw that.
A few years after Lisa and Jennie had gotten back together, they decided to move to Austin, Texas. That city had more family and homey vibes. They wanted to take their time and actually enjoy their kids, rather than living in NYC where the lifestyle was very much different.
Every now and then, Lisa had to travel to different cities to take care of things, whether it was to New York, Thailand, or Korea. But that didn't matter, Lisa made sure to make her schedule work to be able to take the entire family with her.
Lisa didn't want enough room for Jennie to have doubts when it came to traveling. Everything time that they could, the three of them would travel. Lisa made sure she worked things out around Henry's schedule to not have miss any school nor afterschool activities.
When Henry turned 11, they both decided they wanted to have a baby so Henry could have a little brother or sister. Even though they were both only children and didn't know what it felt to have a sibling, they didn't want Henry to go through that and grow up alone.
Both Lisa and Jennie decided that this time Lisa was going to carry Jennie's baby. Lisa wanted to experience what it felt like to be pregnant, but also wanted a mini Nini.
A year later little Mia was born. A cute little girl with dark hair and eyes just like Jennie. She also looked a bit like Henry after they decided to use the same donor. They wanted their kids to be related somehow.
Jennie thought that having Henry and Mia was more than enough, but once Lisa got baby fever once more and wanted Jennie to get pregnant to take care of her, love her, and fulfill all her cravings.
She wanted to experience that because she wasn't able to do it in the past. So, after convincing her, Jennie decided to get pregnant again.
It wasn't easy, but after a couple of tries, Jennie got pregnant.
After the game was over, they all went to In-n-Out because that was one of Henry's favorite places to eat. Lisa had told him that if his team won the game, she was going to take him to eat wherever he wanted to go.
They all had a great time up until the point when Mia started crying, wanting to go home. Jennie looked a Lisa who was trying to conform mini-Jennie but wasn't successful.
"I told you; it won't be that east to have her running around as well as having a newborn baby."
"Babe, everything will be fine, you know I always find a solution for everything." Lisa said as she continued to cheer the little girl up. "Henry, help mom with whatever she needs, I'm going to put your little sister on her car seat so we can go."
The young man nodded and helped Jennie to get up and help her to the car, it was starting to get difficult to walk around normally. Her feet would swell up and the back pains weren't helping either.
But even though she was in pain, she wasn't going to miss Henry's first game of the season.
Once they got home, Lisa gave Mia a bath, while Henry showered as well. Jennie went to the living room and laid down on the couch to rest up.
They got into their pajamas and decided to watch a movie together, just like they always did during the weekend. That was one of their family traditions ever since they moved to Texas.
Henry was sitting down on the floor; he loved sitting there rather than sitting on a couch. Jennie was still laying down on one of the couches, next to Lisa who had Mia on her lap. Mia loved being next to her when it came to watching movies.
All four of them were having a great time. Many would think that doing that was boring or not important enough, but to them, it was everything. They were together as a family, doing nothing but watching tv together.
Lisa and Jennie loved doing that over traveling, going out, or doing something else.
Whoever saw them would smile looking at them, looking at what they were.
A perfect family.
