Months passed and Lisa had been very attentive to both Henry and Jennie. They were spending so much time together as a family, having dinner together, going to the park, getting ice cream, and even going to the grocery store.
Jennie loved that feeling; She love seeing how happy Henry way. And of course, Jennie loved being happy as well. Lisa was still the same Lisa as before, which made Jennie open up to her a bit. Of course sleeping together was a plus; they were sleeping together a lot. Jennie felt like a horny teenager again. But who could blame her, Lisa was hot and the sex was great.
With Henry and Jennie spending more time with Lisa and working long hours, the less she would talk to Mark. Jennie didn't want to admit it at first, but she was staring to forget about it. She couldn't deny that the thought of giving Lisa a chance would run through her mind from time to time.
Lisa and Jennie had made plans to have lunch together that day; they set a time to meet up at a restaurant. But one of Jennie's patients canceled, so she decided to surprise her and visit her at her job.
Jennie had been at Lisa's headquarters few times now that the receptionist already knew who I was. Lisa's secretary told the brunette girl that Lisa was in her office, so Jennie happily walked there. Jennie was going to knock, but she didn't want her to know that she was coming.
Jennie wanted to surprise her but instead, she was the one who got surprised.
Jennie opened the door without knocking and what her eyes witnessed, made her heart ache. Lisa was sitting on her chair and sitting on her desk was a beautiful blonde girl. Jennie recognized her; it was Roseanne Park. She was giving her a very flirty smile and Lisa seemed to be enjoying it. Lisa looked towards Jennie's direction and her smile disappeared when she saw her.
"Jennie, hey" she looked surprised. "I didn't know you were coming, how come you didn't tell me?" The blonde girl looked at Jennie who clearly looked annoyed.
"I wanted to surprise you, but you're clearly busy, so I'll let you be" Jennie turned around as quick as she could because she felt her eyes getting teary.
Jennie walked out and got to the elevator in record time. Not again, not again that she was playing with her. Why, what did she do to deserve that? Jennie got in the elevator she pressed the level she was parked on. The door started closing, but then a hand stopped it, it was her.
"Jen, why are you leaving?"
"Lisa leave alone" She said wiping her tears as Lisa looked at her, getting inside the elevator.
"Hey, why are you crying?"
"Do you really have to ask? I opened up again and this is what you do!? This is all a fucking game to you!"
"What, what are you talking about Jennie?"
"Seriously Lalisa!? You pretend to play family with us, and then have your side chick?"
"Side chick? What are you even talking about, I'm so confused"
"I'm not an idiot Lalisa! She was flirting with you and you obviously were having a good time"
"Who, Rosé? Jennie, we're just friends. There is nothing going on with her. I haven't slept with her in over a year"
Jennie wanted to believe her, but she couldn't. She couldn't fall for her lies, not again.
"I need to go" Jennie tried to walk out of the elevator but Lisa grabbed her wrist.
"Jennie, please don't. I don't want to loose you" Lisa's voice was beginning to crack, Jennie pulled her hand away, breaking Lisa's grip.
"Just leave me alone Lisa"
"Jennie don't, I don't want to leave things like this, baby please"
"Save your excuses. Mark was right you know" the elevator stopped and she walked out.
By now Jennie's tears weren't stopping as much as she tried to wipe them. She was beginning to let her walls down, but of course, something like this always happens.
Why did she have to be the one to always get hurt?
Jennie got in her car and left, once again.
Heart broken
Jennie didn't hear from Lisa after that day. As always, every time something like this happens, she would always distant herself.
It had been a few days since she last saw her, before it was easy because she would just not talk to her. But now it was hard because someone would ask about her, and that person was Henry.
It wasn't his fault and Jennie knew she couldn't keep him away from her. After all, Lisa was his mom, and she couldn't neglect her son by keeping him away from her.
Jennie put her damaged heart and her pride aside to make things right for her son. She picked up the phone and dialed the familiar number. It rang a couple times, knowing that she most likely wasn't going to answer, Jennie pulled the phone out of her ear to hang up when she heard a 'hello' coming from the other end.
"Jen, it's that you?" The brunette girl cleared her throat and placed the phone back on her ear.
"Henry wants to see you, he's been asking for you"
"I miss you guys, I want to see you too"
"You can spend time with him tomorrow if you want, take him to the park or something"
"I would love to see you guys"
"I have things to do Lisa, so you can take him if you'd like. If not I'll just take him to daycare"
"No, you don't have to do that, I'll pick him up tomorrow"
"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow at noon then" Jennie hung up the phone without letting her say a single word. Jennie didn't want to hear what Lisa had to say.
Jennie knew things would be difficult, but she had to put her feelings aside and do what's best for her son.
The following day Jennie was finishing getting Henry's things ready when she heard the door. She got up and looked at him.
"I'll be back sweetie, finish your food" Jennie got up and walked to the door, she opened the door knowing it was her
"Hey, how are you Jen?"
"Henry is almost done eating" She said ignoring her question
"Can we talk?"
"Is it about Henry?" Jennie looked at Lisa with a serious face
"No, it's about us"
"There's nothing to talk, if it's not about Henry, we don't have anything to talk about"
"Why are you being like this? Can you at let me explain what you saw at my office the other day?"
"There's nothing to explain Lalisa"
"Jennie, I don't want to fight please"
"Do you want to take Henry or not? He has been asking for you for days now" Lisa let out a defeated sigh, knowing that there was no way that she could talk to Jennie.
Lisa walked inside the apartment defeated. She smiled when she saw the beautiful smile of the little boy eating at the kitchen.
"Mommy Lisa!" The little boy got off his chair and ran up to her happily.
Lisa got down to his height and hugged him tight.
"I missed you son"
"I missed you too mommy Lisa. How come you haven't come for sleep overs?" Lisa looked a Jennie briefly then looked at the little boy again.
"I've been busy soon, but hopefully I can sleep over soon. You ready to go? We're going to your favorite toy store"
"Yay!" The little boy said all cheered up
"Come on, let's go" Lisa looked at Jennie waiting for her to say something. Jennie couldn't say anything, so she just looked away.
"Let me know when you guys are done. I should be home in the afternoon"
"Will do, come on son" after saying bye, Lisa and Henry headed out.
It was the first time that Jennie allowed Lisa to take their son. She felt sad that she couldn't be together with them, but Jennie was hurt; she needed space from Lisa. It wasn't fair that Henry had to pay for the consequence as well.
Jennie knew that things would not be easy, she had to put her feelings aside and put her son first.
