A Second Chance (Jenlisa)

Chapter Fourteen

Jennie's POV

After our visit with Lisa that day, Henry wouldn't stop asking about her. I was surprised of how quickly those two had bonded, I mean of course they would bound, Lisa is his mom.

Seeing Lisa that day had brought back many memories, some of them were good and some weren't. I couldn't help to think if she was being honest about being part on Henry's life or she was just trying to cause issues.

We had gone to the park or to have dinner with her a few times. Henry was getting so used to her that he stopped asking about Mark.

I didn't see her for a couple weeks due to my work schedule not working out. We were short a few staff members, so that was making things difficult and stressful.

I was finishing getting dinner ready when I heard the door. I opened the door and was greeted by my best friend.

"Unnie. I missed you. How have you been? How's my precious little girl?"

Jisoo had her daughter three months ago, she was busy with her. I understood that perfectly, babies are a handful when they're first born. I gave her a hug and then looked at the precious baby.

"She's good, she's a handful" Jisoo laugh.

"They sure are, I remember when Henry was that age, I was lucky to get a couple hours of sleep"

"Aunt Jisoo!" Henry ran out and hugged Jisoo's leg. "I mished you"

"I missed you too little guy, you're getting so big" Jisoo said carrying Henry. "And heavy too" We both laugh and headed towards the dining room to have dinner.

"Mama, is mommy Lisa coming ovah?" Jisoo almost chocked the with her food when she heard that. I looked at Jisoo then I looked at Henry.

"No, not today baby, she has so stuff going on. But maybe we can see if she can come over next week" Jisoo was still looking at him, trying to find answers. I looked at her and whispered.

"I'll tell you later Unnie"

After dinner, I was cleaning up the table while Jisoo was feeding her daughter. Henry went to play with his toys in his room. Once I was done cleaning up, I went to the living room where Jisoo was.

"Is she still awake?" I said looking at the precious little baby.

"She is, you wanna hold her?"

"Of course" I grabbed the baby and looked at her while I rocked her a bit. "You look just like your mama"

"So... are you finally gonna tell me what's going on?"

Jisoo had been so busy with her newborn that I hadn't had time to catch up with her. She knew that Lisa had reached out about wanting to meet Henry, but didn't she know the rest.

"Well... after I told you that I was going to have her meet Henry, we met up and things have been good. Her and Henry and getting along pretty good"

"How did Henry take everything?"

"He was very open about it to my surprise. He was excited to meet her"

"What about you? How are you taking all this?"

"Henry is my main focus, things with Lisa have been ok, I guess we've been good co-parents"

"What's gonna happen when she asks you to have Henry some days, are you going to allow that?"

"I don't know Unnie, that scares me. I don't want to be apart from him. But I know eventually one day she's probably gonna ask for that"

We continue talking for some time, about work and life in general. After Jisoo left, I gave Henry a bath and got him ready for bed.

The following weeks Lisa continued meeting up with Henry, taking him to the park, arcades, museums, anything that I little kid like to do. I loved seeing her interact with him. No matter all these years, she was still the same Lisa as always.

We were at the park after having ice cream as always. Henry wanted me to sit on a swing with him, I couldn't say no to him. I was holding him when I felt the swing starting to move. I looked back startled a saw Lisa who was beginning to swing us.

"Lisa, what are you doing?"

"I'm swing you guys" she continued swing us

"Go slow please, you know I don't like these things" Lisa laughed and when I told her that.

"More mommy Lisa, higher" Lisa laughed and listened to Henry's commands. I simply held onto Henry for dear life.

"Lisa! Not so high!" I couldn't help laughing when I heard hers and Henry's laugh.

After a couple minutes of torture Lisa stopped the swinging us. Lisa hugged both Henry and I to have the swing at a complete stop. I felt her body pressed on my back, it felt so warmed. I looked at her for a few seconds then got up with Henry.

"Sorry" Lisa said, noticing me getting up.

"It's ok, don't worry about it. It's getting late. You ready to go honey?"

"Yeah, can mommy Lisa take us home?"

"Ehh..." I didn't finish the sentence when Lisa spoke.

"Of course sweetie, I can take you guys home. If it's ok with you" she said that looking at me.

"Yeah, that's fine"

The ride home was a bit quiet; Lisa was playing with Henry. I looked at them play and couldn't help smile. Once we got home, Lisa walked us to the door.

"Say goodnight to mommy Honey"

"Goodnight mommy Lisa"

"Goodnight sweetheart, you get some sleep ok" Lisa hugged him and caressed his back.

"I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner with us tomorrow, if you didn't have anything going on" Lisa smiled and looked at me.

"I would love to. What time should I come over"

"6:30, does that work?"

"6:30 it's perfect" she said smiling, I gave her a smile back.

"Ok, I'll see you over tomorrow then"

"See you tomorrow Jen" Lisa leaned in giving me a small kiss on the cheek. She caught me off guard so I didn't know anything. After she left, I closed the door behind me realizing what just had happened. I put Henry to bed and headed towards my room to attempt to get some sleep.

As soon as I closed my eyes, the feeling of Lisa's body pressed on mine came back into my mind. I sighed and open my eyes. Why was I thinking about that? I don't know how many times I tossed and turned, but I was finally able to get some sleep.

The following morning I got ready and got Henry ready. I served him his breakfast and looked at him.

"Guess what baby. Mommy Lisa is gonna have dinner with us tonight"

"Yay!" I smiled seeing how happy he got.

Once he was some with his breakfast, I took him to daycare and after dropping him off I headed to work.

Work was busy today that it went by quick. I got off a bit really so I could pick Henry up and pick up some groceries. Once we were done shopping, we headed home. Henry went to go play with his toys while I made dinner.

I was almost done with dinner when I heard the door. My heart skipped a beat knowing it was her. I opened the door and was greeted by her beautiful eyes.

"Hi. I brought wine, desert, a toy for Henry, and this for you" She said handing me some flowers. I couldn't help but smile a bit.

"You didn't have to do that Lisa. Thank you, and thank you for the toy for Henry. You're spoiling him too much"

"He's my son, I have to" we both walked in and the when we walked into the living room Henry ran up to her.

"Mommy Lisa!" He hugged her when Lisa picked him up.

"Hi sweetie. I got you this" Lisa gave him his gift.

"Wow, thanks mommy Lisa!" He said hugging her even more.

"I'm gonna finish dinner"

"Do you need any help?"

"No, you guys have fun" I went back to the kitchen and finished dinner. Once I set the table, I went to the living room. "Dinner is ready"

"Come on little guy, let's go eat. I'll race you" Henry got up and took off, Lisa following him.

Dinner was very pleasant; we had a good time. Laughing at Lisa's jokes and Henry's conversation. It felt good having some quality time with both of them. For a second, I forgot about everything and enjoyed us having dinner as a family.

After desert Lisa and Henry played a bit until it was time for his bath, I gave him a quick back then got him ready for bed. After reading him a book, I turned off the lights and walked Lisa to the door.

"Thank you for having dinner with us. Henry had a great time as you saw"

"Yeah, I did, he's such a funny boy. Thank you for allowing me to have dinner with you guys"

"Well, maybe we can do this more often" I looked at her and gave her a small smile.

"You know I'd love to Jennie. Maybe next time you guys can have dinner at my place."

"That'd be great" we both were quiet for a few seconds.

"I guess I'll keep in touch with you"

"Yeah, we'll talk soon."
