A Second Chance (Jenlisa)

Chapter Twenty-One

Lisa felt her body getting hot, but it wasn't that kind of hot filled with lust. It was the type of heat filled with rage and anger. Lisa felt her cheeks beginning to get hot, so she decided to walk to the bathroom and calm herself down before she did something she was going to regret at a later time.

Lisa pushed the bathroom so hard, almost wanting to knock the door with a simple push. Lisa didn't care if there was someone behind the door and potentially could get hurt. Luckily there was no one inside.

Lisa walked to the sink where she washed her hands while looking at herself on the mirror. Her face was red as a tomato while she still felt her cheeks burning.

How was it possible that someone so insignificant could change her moon in a quick second? Lisa had not really interacted with Mark in the past, but that one night outside Jennie's apartment.

How was it possible that Jennie could do something like that? Why did she have to invite him to their son's birthday?

Lisa thought about getting out of the bathroom and confront Jennie. But she was still angry and she knew that if she stepped out of there, she would say something that could jeopardize her seeing Henry. She knew she had to be smart about it and plan her strategy better.

Left spend almost 20 minutes inside the bathroom until she calmed down. After getting out of there, she walked towards Henry. The little one saw her from afar and ran up to her with a huge smile on his face. Lisa picked him up and spun him around a bit, giving him many kisses.

"Happy birthday my sweet boy, how old are you now?" Henry showed her four fingers up in the air. "Wow, you're a big boy now. You're not a little baby anymore huh?"

"Let's go play mommy Lisa" Lisa put him down and went to go play arcade games with him for a while. Enjoying every second she had with her son.

While barely had any time to spend with Henry, she was busy hosting the party and making sure everything was going perfect. She looked where Lisa and Henry were playing and couldn't help to smile seeing how happy he was.

For a second she forgot that she was mad at Lisa for being late and for all the stuff that happened weeks ago.

Henry's birthday party was a success; Henry was happy and had a great time with his friends. Mark spent his time with Jennie and Jisoo, helping Jennie around. Lisa was still angry that Jennie was relying on someone else to help with her son's birthday rather than her, but she decided to ignore that and have a good time.

Everyone ate, played the many arcade games, and had a great time. Everyone gathered up to sing Happy Birthday to Henry. Following that the pictures came. Jennie took a few photos with Henry and her, Jisoo, Henry and her. A few photos with Mark and Henry together, and of course, she took a few photos alone with Mark.

Jisoo took a few photos of Lisa, Jennie and Henry, and Lisa and Henry alone.

Marked stepped out to start getting many of Henry's gifts into the Uber. Lisa finished saying bye to Henry who was still enjoying his cake. Lisa walked up to Jennie trying keeping her cool.

"Friday I'm going to pick up Henry at daycare, that way you don't have to stop whatever you are doing that day."

"I actually wanted to talk to you about next week. Next Friday I was planning on taking him to see a show. I was going to tell you to just stop by Saturday morning and pick him up."

"Can't you take him next week, or another weekend that is not my weekend?"

"No Lisa, the tickets are non-refundable." Lisa grunted frustrated knowing that she wasn't going to win.

"Do whatever you want Jennie..." Lisa walked away and gave Henry a kiss on the head. "I'll see you next week son, I love you..." Lisa gave him a hug, which the little boy reciprocated.

"Bye mommy Lisa..."

Lisa left without saying a single word to Jennie anymore. Jennie saw her leave and sighting not understanding why it was so difficult to co-parent. It was obvious that Lisa was upset, Jennie noticed when her attitude change mid-party.

Of course Lisa was going to be angry at how things played out. Jennie knew Lisa didn't like Mark, but the question was why? Of course, there was only one reason, and that reason was because Jennie was willing to move on and be happy with someone. That person wasn't Lisa, it was somebody else.

But Lisa had Roseanne, why was she acting like that seeing Jennie with someone else.

Was it really true that Lisa and Roseanne were only friends?

What if Jennie saw someone that was not happening that day?

What it Jennie's mind was tricking her? Jennie still had her doubts about Lisa being faithful.

What if Jennie just decided to move on and forget about Lisa?

What if there was someone attempting to get Jennie's attention and Jennie just wasn't seeing that person.

What if Jennie just focused on making sure she raise Henry to be a great person.

What if...

Jennie's thoughts were interrupted by the tall, handsome blue-eyed guy in front of her.

"Everything ok?" Said the tall guy waving his hand in front of Jennie's face.

"Huh? Did you say something?" Jennie asked getting back to reality. Mark laughed a bit.

"I was asking if you were ready to go. I'm sorry; I didn't meant to interrupt whatever you were thinking.

"Oh no, don't worry about it, its nothing. I'm ready to go. Henry, lets go honey..."

They all got inside the Uber and headed towards Jennie's apartment. Jennie once again got lost in her thoughts, playing the What if game once again.

Lisa and Jennie hadn't spoke since that day. In reality, they hardly spoke after the incident at Lisa's office. They would only talk regarding their son.

Lisa was still mad at Jennie, just like Jennie was mad at Lisa. Having Mark at Jennie's place was not helping the situation what so ever. Lisa would limit her self to only speak to Jennie. If she needed to talk to her, it was over text message.

Mark gave Jennie the great news that he had been transferred to a location in New York to be able to spend more time with her and Henry.

Jennie thought that it was a good idea to have Mark near so she could actually give herself and real chance with him. Jisoo was stoked as well once Jennie told her that. Jisoo told Jennie that she needed to give herself a chance at being happy once and for all.

It was Friday night and Jennie was making dinner with Mark when she heard the doorbell. Jennie looked at the time; Lisa had picked up Henry a while ago so she knew it wasn't her.

Jennie frowned her eyebrows and walked towards the door confused. She looked through the peek hole and she felt like she was about to pass out seeing who was being her door. Anger and rage got the best of her in just a few seconds.

Jennie opened the door and looked at the tall blond girl who was at her door step.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Jennie spat with anger in her voice. The blond girl looked at her with an arrogant smile.

"Jennie Ruby Jane Kim?" Roseanne asked while looking at her from top to bottom.

"You better leave before I call the police!" Roseanne pulled a manila envelope from behind her.

"You've been served..." Without saying anything else, she turned around and left.

Jennie stood there even more confused than before. She didn't know why Roseanne came by.

Jennie thought that Roseanne came by to throw in her face that she had slept with Lisa. That she was the one who broke her and Lisa's marriage. But she didn't say any of those things to her. The only words she exchanged with her were what she had told her.

Jennie closed the door and opened the envelope cautiously, not knowing what to expect. Her hands began to shake as she tried to read the contents. She couldn't get past the big bold letters on top of the page. The State of New Your Family Justice Court: Lalisa Manobal vs. Jennie Ruby Jane Kim.

Mark approached Jennie when he heard the door close. He asked the brunette who came by, but she didn't respond. She simply showed him the papers she was holding, still with shaky hands.

"The first meeting is in a month... " Mark said while he continue reading the letter carefully. "Lisa wants to go to court to try to get custody of Henry..."

Jennie pulled her phone still not believing how it was possibly that this was happening. Jennie dialed Lisa's number, but she didn't answer. She called her afew more times until she picked up.

"What is it Jennie? Why are you calling at this time?"

"What the fuck do you think you are trying to do Lalisa!?"

"What are you talking about?" Lisa asked.

"Don't play dumb now. You sent your fucking side chick to serve me a subpoena to go to court in a month. A Fucking month Lalisa!" Jennie was so angry that her eyes began to water.

"Jennie, I warned you. I told you that if you didn't let me see my son I wasn't going to have another alternative but to take you to court."

"You are seeing him Lisa. He's with you at this moment!"

"Seeing him every other weekend is not enough, and you know it Jennie! I'm not gonna let you keep me away from him"

"Know for a fact that I won't go down without a fight" Without saying anything else,she hung up the phone. She didn't want to hear a single word coming from Lisa's mouth.

Lisa began to question herself if it had been a great idea that Roseanne served Jennie. At first she thought it was a great idea when Rose volunteer to served her. But now that she was thinking about it, maybe it hadn't been a good idea after all.

Lisa knew that this was just the beginning of a war. She knew Jennie was not going to just let things be without a fight. But Lisa wasn't going down without a fight either.

She told herself that she was going to do anything she could to spend more time with his son.
