Now, it has been around three months since Xiao “lived” in my apartment. For him being a demon and throwing tantrums and being dangerous, he has calmed down over the time whenever something wasn't going his way or annoyed him. Which, I do have to say, is pretty surprising, I mean, Xiao’s a demon after all.

The little ghost girl sometimes visited, but Xiao already returned her to her parents. So, now it's just Xiao and I, a human and a demon. Who would have thought that this would even happen to anyone, and crazy that anyone, is me?

I got out of my mind as soon as I saw the apartment door and unlocked it with my keys. Walking in, I saw it was pretty neat with warm food waiting, guessing for me, on the table in the kitchen.

I closed the door behind me and walked to the bowl full of food. This must have been Xiao, no one else even has my keys. Though, it is weird he has done this for me. I would've expected that instead it being on the table it would be on the floor smashed into pieces. This was indeed quite a surprise.

I do not know why, since I'm not in someone else's house, but I sat down and decided to quietly eat the food, and in peace after quite some time of tantrums.

Oh wow, this was indeed delicious. Definitely better than my own cooking.

I got up and put the dish into the sink to wash it.  Once I did, I headed into my room to do my homework, so that I won't have to do in the middle of the night and actually get some sleep for at least one another day before my schedule gets fucked again.

I sneered to myself, barely noticeable as i thought about my sleep schedule while heading to my room.

I “jumped” on my bed to get a little bit of sleep for my brain before getting to the homework and —
“Ow!” Someone almost shouted In some kind of screech.

I looked frightened at the person, not expecting anyone at all. “What the fuck?!” Xiao cursed.

‘I’m sorry- wait, no! What the hell are you doing in my bed?!” I asked him, kind of aggressively. “I was just laying here, got a problem with that?” Xiao asked.

“Yes,no..maybe, I don't know?! I mean, you're in MY bed? And I thought you said you, demons, don't need sleep anyway?” I asked him. This was a fight of questions.

“Well, of course we don't! I didn't say I was sleeping, idiot.” He said madly, crossing his arms.

As I sat there, in shock and disbelief, Xiao gave me a smug grin. "What, you think I can't enjoy the comforts of a nice cozy bed just because I'm a demon? Are demons not allowed to lounge around like lazy sloths every now and then?"

I sighed, frustration bubbling up inside me. "I just... I didn't expect to find you in my bed, okay?"

Xiao rolled his eyes, his horned head tilting back as he looked at me. "Oh please, don't be so dramatic. It's not like I'm going to bite your head off or anything. Probably."

I narrowed my eyes at him, unconvinced by his nonchalant tone. "You better not. You're already a pain in the neck with your demon antics."

He chuckled, a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine. "Oh, come on now. You know you enjoy my company. Admit it, Aether."

I crossed my arms, attempting to maintain a semblance of composure. "I don't know what you're talking about. You're a menace, remember?"

Xiao smirked, his tail flicking lazily behind him. "Mmm, well, if I'm such a menace, why don't you kick me out then?"

I paused, realizing that despite his snarky attitude, he had kept me company during these lonely months. Maybe having a demon in my life wasn't all bad.

"You know what? Fine. You can stay. But next time, give me a heads up before you invade my bed, okay?"

Xiao grinned, mischief dancing in his eyes. "Deal. Now, get some sleep. I can sense that monstrous pile of homework staring you down, and you'll need all the rest you can get to conquer it."

With a mix of annoyance and genuine gratitude, I crawled into bed beside Xiao, preparing for another unpredictable time with my demon.

And so, the days passed with Xiao's mischievous presence becoming an inseparable part of my life. We laughed, we argued, and sometimes we even fought off. Life felt more alive and thrilling with him around.

But as time went on, I couldn't help but notice a change in my feelings towards Xiao. The way his eyes sparkled when he looked at me and began to stir a strange warmth within.

It was confusing—how could I feel anything beyond irritation for a demon who wreaked havoc in my life? Yet, there was an undeniable connection that went beyond the supernatural chaos he brought.

As we laid there in silence, I managed to nap for like an hour before waking up again. I looked over and saw Xiao still laying down, and actually sleeping, what a little devil liar. I couldn’t help but smile as I saw him sleeping comfortably with his tail wrapped around him.

I quietly got away from the bed and took my school backpack, sat down at my desk and started doing my homework for tomorrow.
