"I always saw Mommy stalking your photo whenever she woke up and before she went to bed."

Instantly, my eyes widened at the food I was currently preparing for Amare. I stared at her for a second, and she had that serious face while telling Lucien everything she knew.

"And sometimes she sleeps late because she will always have a terrible nightmare at midnight."

I looked away when Lucien searched for my eyes. I bit my lips as a flood of thoughts started to form in my head. I didn't know Amare had noticed that.

I cleared my throat before I started walking towards them. I tried to smile when I noticed a pair of eyes were following every movement I made.

"Can I?"

Napatingin ako sa kanya. His eyes were softer than usual. I silently moved the plates towards him.

"Mommy, is Daddy going to sleep here?"

"Amare, Daddy is working. The patients are also waiting for Daddy in the hospital." I explained.

I know she misses Lucien so much, but I think Lucien wouldn't sacrifice his work for Amare. He can visit her after his work.

"Daddy will get home early after work, and on weekends, we will go somewhere you want. Is that fine, baby?"

I needed to remind Lucien that he also needed to rest. He couldn't spare his time on weekends because he had work too.

That was the painting she hid in her tote bag before we went here to the Philippines.

But then I realized that she painted the three of us. We were facing the sea with its golden, pink, and violet hues. The three of us were sitting on the thin white sand while she was holding both of our arms in the middle.

After she finished her painting, she hung it at the top of our bed at Nagpaalam na matutulog. Lucien and I were silently watching her peacefully sleeping on the bed.

I went to the hanging chair and watched the azure beach. After all these years, I have not expected a day like this to become realistic. Lucien was too high to reach, and he has become a successful personality in this town.

Despite being in prison for six months, hindi 'yon nakabawas sa galing niya sa medical school. He accelerated his years of residency and became a successful surgeon.

"What are you thinking at the moment?"

I swiftly turned to him, who was already sitting beside me. "I'm just wondering, what if we never meet again? You know, that time when we both played at the Hall?"
