Chapter 34

"Lucien!"

I tapped the push button of the machine claw to get the stuff toy Amare keeps on pointing at. Napanguso ako ng hindi 'yon nadala ng claw machine. Lucien softly chuckled at our expression.

Sabay na nagsalubong ang kilay namin ni Amare dahil kanina pa namin 'yon kinukuha. Feeling ko ay mas na stress pa ako rito kesa sa site.

"One last try," he said with a smile on his lips.

"Daddy, you said that almost 20th times."

Amare crossed her arms over her chest while staring at the claw machine. Tahimik na napanguso si Lucien at sumubok ulit. I wanted to laugh because of his sudden reaction.

He tried again, and finally, Amare jumped with delight because he was able to get it for her. After playing in the arcade, we went to a fancy restaurant Lucien had booked for us.

Malapit na akong masanay na normal na napapatingin sa kanya ang mga taong nakapaligid sa amin. His lab coat seemed to be the source of his attractiveness, drawing attention from anyone who would pass through us.

"Mommy, I dreamed of Nana Alora last night."

Ngumiti ako sa kanya na seryosong nag k-kwento sa akin. "Did you miss your two Nana's?

She slowly nodded her head and continued talking about her dream. She clasped both of her cute hands on the table. "Nana was so happy while listening to the man with a violin. I think they're in a garden with a lot of different flowers."

Swiftly, my chest felt weird of her dream. Parang naging balisa ako ng gabing 'yon. Lucien tried to lighten the mood by sharing his successful operation with his patient.

Dumating na ang mga pagkain namin kaya hindi na ako nakapag taong kay Amare. I think I need to pay her a visit. I just realized that I have not seen her for months because I was clouded by my work, with Amare and Lucien.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll bring Amare to their mansion. Matagal na akong hindi nakakapunta roon. Pagkatapos namin kumain ay sa bahay kami ni Morgan tumuloy.

Gabi na at ayaw kong mapagod si Lucien sa pag d-drive. Pagod na rin si Amare at gusto ng matulog ng dumating kami sa bahay. Nag half bath lang siya tapos natulog na siya kaagad.

"Is something bothering you?" I felt Lucien's hand on my waist.

He slowly guided me to sit on the monoblock chair near the door. I sat on his lap while his face rested on my shoulder.

"Do you think it was strange?" I whispered, the unnamed feeling building up in my chest.

Hindi ako nakarinig ng sagot mula sa kanya kaya tumitig ako sa mukha niya. He looks like he was bothered too. His head was creasing while he was in deep thought.

"Have you talked to Alora?" He broke the silence after a few minutes.

"About what?"

"She didn't tell you yet?" His voice was softer than usual.

"Why?" I whispered.

I didn't know why I became nervous about my question. I knew Alora wouldn't hide something from me. We became close after everything. She took care of me when I was having trouble with my pregnancy. She was there, and it was enough for me to see how she wanted to be a mother to me.

Lucien was silent while still staring at me. His eyes glistened. Seconds later, he smiled weakly, and it made me curious even more.

"I thought you knew already..."

After that, his phone rang, which stopped me from asking more questions of him. Lumabas siya ng kwarto para hindi ko siya marinig. There's a part of me that's scared of my own thoughts. I didn't entertain the terrible thoughts I have for Alora. Kahit si Lonie ay wala akong balita pagkatapos ng pagkikita namin.
