A/N: We are slowly getting to the interesting part and also to the part where my drafts become a mess... honestly I'm a bit stuck with them since I barely have time to write while also having uni classes >< Also, welcome, new readers, and wow, this book is almost at 1K reads??!?!?

Yeonjun took one last look at his reflection in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction. His outfit for the school dance was simple - he wore his old suit with the matching pants that he cleaned nicely and a cool shirt that he found between the clothes that his stepbrothers were planning to throw out. He also found some cute hairpins he could recycle and added them to his hair. Even though Beomgyu promised he will get him a mask, he also spent the past few evenings with making one for himself in case his silly friend forgets about it. He used glitter and pearls to decorate it - to his luck he found many different pearls and even a nice bracelet in his brothers' stuff.

Speaking of, despite his family's efforts of trying to give Yeonjun as much work as they could so he won't be able to finish them and can't come to the dance, he somehow succeeded with doing all the chores on time. He didn't even understand why wouldn't his brothers want him to go in the first place. They are probably embarrassed about him, but Yeonjun never interacted with them in public anyways.

He looked at his watch. He hoped Beomgyu will arrive to pick him up in time, because if not, then he will have to go with the others and none of them wanted that. Mrs Choi was invited to a business dinner for that night and she said she will only be back around midnight, but she also told the boys that she is dropping them off by the school. Wooyoung and San weren't the happiest knowing that Yeonjun will go with them.

Yeonjun grabbed his bag and coat and left his bedroom giddily. Nothing could ruin his mood right now. He had a good feeling about tonight, and he knew it was going to be an unforgettable night. He rushed down the stairs towards the front door and began putting on his shoes. He could hear his stepmother talking on the phone in the kitchen and he sighed in relief, knowing that luckily he won't be the one to blame if they are late to the dance.

San and Wooyoung were already by the door, checking themselves in the mirror one last time while talking constantly about the dance and discussing the school rumors about who is going with who. Yeonjun barely paid attention to their gabbling until suddenly San turned towards him. He tilted his head.

'Wooyoung?'

'Hm?'

'Aren't those your hairpins you were going to throw out?' asked San out of nowhere. Yeonjun froze in the motion of adjusting his hair with his fingers. Wooyoung turned to him too and gasped.

'They are! Hey, you! Those are mine!' he exclaimed and stepped towards Yeonjun. He reached his hand out and without a word he pulled the hairpins out of Yeonjun's hair. Yeonjun winced at his hair being pulled but he stayed quiet, lowering his head and about to put on his jacket.

'Hey! And is that my shirt?!' gasped San. Yeonjun clenched his jaw and avoided the two's eyes. San stepped closer and turned Yeonjun towards himself, looking at the shirt. 'It's mine! You stole it!' he yelled.

'No, I didn't! You gave me the bag to throw it out and-' protested Yeonjun.

'Yeah, I wanted to throw them out, not you to wear them!' shouted San angrily and grabbed the sleeve of the shirt. Yeonjun tried to get away from him out of instinct and there was a tearing sound as the sleeve of the shirt tore apart.

'Now look what you did!' yelled Wooyoung. 'And this?!' he grabbed the mask from Yeonjun. 'These pearls are from our stuff too!' he said and simply broke the mask in half. Yeonjun felt tears piercing his eyes as he backed away from his stepbrothers with his disheveled hair and torn shirt.
