A/N: I reached the part of the book where I actually don't know what I'm doing lol

I'm not even kidding, the >>after the dance<< part of the story was rewritten at least 3 times with 3 different storylines. But no worries, finally the semester is over (meaning 2x a week updates) and I can work on the draft in peace!

I didn't expect writing a Cinderella college au to be so challenging, I kind of miss my fairy tale concepts, but at the same time I really enjoy writing this book. I hope you guys still like it though :))

.

'So basically you have a crush on someone who just left you in the middle of the school dance and you have absolutely no idea who they are?!' summarized the case Huening Kai as the three friends were walking towards their respective classes after lunch break.

'Kind of?' said Soobin awkwardly, playing with the strap of his backpack with his fingers. 'You guys saw him too, right? I feel like I really lost my mind' he shook his head.

'Don't worry, he wasn't just your imagination' said Taehyun. 'And even if we wouldn't have seen him, you have his mask in your bag!' he reminded.

'You're right' sighed Soobin. He only had one thing on his mind since Friday: how is he going to find his mystery man?

And what bothered him even more was that by now half of the school knew about what happened. Basically everyone saw him with the mysterious boy, and somehow the rumors about the boy running away in the middle of the dance also reached everyone. No one actually knew who the boy was, and he didn't try to contact him either, which really saddened Soobin. It once again made him question whether the boy actually goes to their school or not. Maybe he doesn't even go there - but then how is he going to find him?

'Okay, my classroom is this way' he stopped. 'See you guys later' he waved goodbye to Tae and Kai, the two youngers making their way towards their respective class. Soobin went down the hallway and walked inside the classroom. He was one of the last people to arrive, and saw that only a few seats were unoccupied, because as always, everyone wanted to sit in the back of the class to avoid the professors' eyes on themselves.

Luckily to Soobin, his deskmate, Felix put his stuff on the chair next to himself so others won't try to sit in Soobin's seat. Meaning everyone was cursing at him for taking up two seats.

'Thanks' sighed Soobin once he reached Felix and the older put his stuff away so he could sit.

'It's nothing, mate' waved it off Felix and adjusted the beanie on his head. 'Hey, what's up? I heard you got into some mess on Friday night' he wiggled his eyebrows. Soobin grimaced as the teacher entered. The two boys continued conversing, lowering their voices.

'Who hasn't heard it, honestly?' he sighed.

'I never would've expected you out of all people to be running after some pretty boy' admitted Felix chewing on his pen.

'Me neither. But to be honest, I think by this time the whole school heard about it. Don't you think...?'

'Mr Choi, Mr Lee, I'd be really thankful if you didn't discuss your life crisis during my class' said the teacher.

'Sorry Mr Jeon' said Felix quickly and waited till the teacher turned away. Then he looked at Soobin again. 'Let me guess, you believe that the boy knows by now who you are and he doesn't approach you because he doesn't want to go out with you' he voiced Soobin's thoughts and fears. The younger nodded and Felix sighed. 'Why are you so hard on yourself, Choi? You're being pessimistic.'

'I'm being realistic' corrected Soobin. 'Sometimes it's the same thing.'

'Well, for your information in case you don't know that already, half of the school would kill to date you.'

'Only half?' joked Soobin.

'Yes, the other half is of straight guys and lesbian girls' explained his train of thoughts Felix. Soobin snorted.

'Mr Choi, would you mind sharing with the class what's so funny?' spoke up Mr Jeon again. 'Maybe we all could have a laugh' he added.

'It's nothing' mumbled Soobin and he slid down on his chair. Mr Jeon shook his head in disapproval and continued explaining... whatever the fuck he was explaining. Soobin wasn't paying attention.

Instead he reached into the inner pocket of his jacket and grabbed the silver mask that he has been carrying with himself for the whole day, his mind wandering back to the same question again: why won't his mystery man approach him?

They enjoyed themselves so much on Friday. Soobin wanted to get to know the other boy more, but he didn't know enough about him to be able to find him. He looked around in the classroom, looking for anyone who might resemble to the boy.

'You have absolutely no clue who could it be?' whispered Felix again. Soobin shook his head.

'I think he is in my year, but I don't even know his major' he whispered back. They continued scanning the students in the classroom with their eyes.

'Mate, I really don't want to know what you two did Friday night. I mean you don't even know his name and major' grimaced Felix and Soobin blushed.

'W-We didn't do anything! We just talked about... music and hobbies and stuff' he sighed.

'I was just teasing' chuckled Felix. His eyes landed on the back of the head of a black haired boy in the front of the classroom. 'If it's Seo Changbin then I don't approve. He is mine' he said.

'You can keep him. He doesn't give a single fuck about you anyways' reminded him Soobin of his miserable love life.

'He will' nodded his head Felix, assuring himself.

'I don't think-'

'Mr Choi, Mr Lee! That's enough!' raised his voice Mr Jeon, making the class flinch. Soobin and Felix both slid down on their seats. 'Soobin, do you know what I've been talking about for the past 5 minutes? Felix?' asked Mr Jeon the rhetorical question. Soobin stayed silent and avoided the teacher's eyes awkwardly. Mr Jeon scoffed. 'I can't believe that I'm a university teacher and I have to bother with seat orders, but here we are. Felix, you sit here in the front seat-'

'Oh come on' whined quietly Felix.

'- next to Changbin' finished the teacher.

'Okay' stood up Felix immediately and gathered his things. Soobin rolled his eyes.

Suddenly the door of the classroom flew open and a brunette boy rushed inside, out of breath.

'Sorry for being late, Mr Jeon' he bowed. 'I had to help Ms Park.'

'It's okay, Yeonjun' dismissed it Mr Jeon, massaging his temples. 'There's an empty seat next to Soobin' he added. Soobin barely paid any attention to the brunette who slowly made his way over to him and sat down next to him, unpacking his things and grabbing his pen, ready to take notes.

'Okay, now that everything is settled, Mr Lee is sitting next to Mr Seo, and Mr Choi is next to Mr Choi, let's start the explanation from the beginning...' continued the class Mr Jeon.

Soobin sighed and under the desk he subconsciously began playing with the silver mask between his fingers - unaware of the pair of widened eyes staring at the mask in disbelief.
