A/N: One of my main problems is that I have a crush on both Yeonjun and Soobin but at the same time I highkey ship them with each other. I have a wild life for someone who's almost 23 lmao. My high school classmates are getting engaged and married while my biggest problem in life is that my K-pop boys will never kiss, only in my books. Btw thank you for 1K reads! <3
Anyways, we are finally getting to the interesting part y'all have been waiting for!! The dance will be 3 chapters long :)
.
The dance have been only going on for about two hours and Soobin was about to give up and just leave the whole thing. He can at least tell that he was there and socialized. That's the main part of being at the dance... right? It's not about those illusions that have been there in the back of his mind saying that he will finally find true love... right?
Surely, he danced with Huening Kai and Taehyun when it came to pop songs, but every time a slow song came on, he just felt so lonely.
Like... do you know the feeling when you don't care about relationships and don't mind being single (and only stanning and having platonic crushes on K-pop idols who will never know that you exist but that's besides the point) and you're perfectly fine on your own, but that feeling instantly vanishes as soon as you're being put in the middle of a room that has lovely couples all over it and you just want to feel loved for a minute?
That's how Soobin felt those moments when couples were waltzing everywhere he looked and he was just sitting by a table with his friends. Speaking of, it's not like Kai and Tae didn't have fun. In fact, Kai was nice enough to dance with basically everyone who asked him (and let me tell you, he is a cutie so he had girls and boys asking him all the time), while Taehyun was busy taking photos for the school website the whole night. Soobin had a lot of people asking him too, but he didn't want to get into the awkward situation of slow dancing with some random person he doesn't even know.
'This party sucks' he sighed and rested his head on his hands on the table they were currently sitting by.
'You are just being delulu' said Tae eating a piece of fruit cake he got himself. Soobin looked at him questioningly. Taehyun shrugged and continued. 'Because you think falling in love is that simple. Look, what you imagine as love at first sight... it's just kind of impossible I guess? I mean, what do you expect? You're watching the dancing couples, then as you look towards the door, suddenly a beautiful man appears that catches your eye... not even knowing who he is, but for some reason your heart whispers it's Him. Then you go up to him and ask him for a dance... and you basically live happily ever after' he finished with his mouth full. 'It's too much to ask for. It only happens in fairytales' he added.
Soobin hummed. He knew Taehyun is right, but he just didn't want to admit the fact that he was being delusional. He turned back towards the dancing couples absently... then his eyes landed on someone who just entered the room.
He couldn't recognize him behind the mask, but as soon as he spotted him, it felt like time stopped around him. He barely heard the music and Taehyun's talking anymore. His lips parted slightly as he watched the beautiful man who was wearing a silver colored suit and mask, looking around, seemingly a bit lost. For some unknown reason Soobin's heart began beating faster at the sight of him and his mouth went dry. He felt like he was drawn to the other.
Without another word to his friends Soobin stood up and began walking towards the boy.
'Where's he going now?' asked Taehyun finishing the cake and looking up. 'Dipshit, I was talking to you!' he yelled after Soobin, but the older acted like he didn't even hear it. Or maybe he actually didn't.
