3rd person POV

After Graduation

So, all the boys tossed their graduation caps high, ready to dive headfirst into the wild world of grown-up hustles. Forth, the go-getter of the crew, teamed up with his buddies to kickstart their gig. Sure, it wasn't some mega-corp, but folks were starting to notice the vibes coming from their hustle, giving them nods of approval.

Their little venture was like a sapling poking through concrete, not exactly taking over the skyline yet. But, man, the stuff they were pulling off got people talking, and they were building up their turf, one move at a time.

So, it was that time of the month again - the monthly meeting. Lucky for everyone, it fell on the weekend, giving them a pass to unwind without worrying about the daily grind. Forth worked his charm and somehow convinced even the doc gang to join the rendezvous.

"Max, you got everything sorted?" Forth inquired, double-checking to make sure everything was on point before the whole crew rolled in.

"Solid, boss. No sweat. We're good to go," Max affirmed, basking in the pat on the shoulder from Forth. The plan was set - they opted to meet at Max and Tul's house, the haven gifted by Max's old man. Seemed like the perfect setup for an epic night, with no looming worries about calling it quits early.

As everyone gathered, Forth kept checking his phone, growing more anxious by the minute. Kit had already shown up. Phana and Beam doing their residency together decided to show up directly from their shift but were running late. What made Forth even more nervous was that Beam wasn't responding to his messages, and they were now half an hour overdue.

Kit, sensing Forth's restlessness, offered reassurance with a comforting smile. "It's okay, Forth. They'll be here soon. Traffic was horrendous on my way here, so I'm sure they're just stuck in the same jam. Give them a bit more time." His words carried a soothing tone, attempting to quell the rising tide of Forth's unease.

Forth nodded, appreciative of Kit's attempt to assuage his concerns. "Yeah, if they don't make it in the next half an hour, I'll give Beam a call to check in."

A lively call from Max echoed through the hall, breaking the tension in the air. "Come on, Boss! You're missing all the fun!" With a shared glance, Kit and Forth decided to leave the worry behind and join the gathering.

Forth's POV

As time went on, I got more and more worried. I called Beam a bunch of times, but no answer. Pha didn't pick up either, which made things even more concerning. Ming, who was chill before, started looking worried too. It was clear that something wasn't right.

"Let me call his colleague. I've got her contact," Ming said, dialing a number with a sense of urgency. I stood there, visibly distressed, waiting anxiously for any news.

"Hello, P Nam!" Ming's immediate response resonated with urgency as he took charge of the conversation.

"Are Beam and Pha still there?" he questioned, his tone reflecting the growing concern.

"No... Okay, when did they leave?" Ming's follow-up question triggered a heightened awareness of the situation. I listened intently, hanging on every word as he inquired further.

"Oh, okay. Thanks, P Nam. Yes, I'll call. Please inform us if they contact you and go back there."

"Yes, thanks." He ended the call, and a collective sense of anticipation hung in the air as everyone, including me, awaited his next words.

"They left the hospital two hours ago," he relayed, visibly more worried than before.

"It takes just 20 minutes to drive here. Even with traffic, it shouldn't take this much time," I murmured to no one in particular, the troubling reality sinking in.
