He really proposed to me.
Regret washed over me. Was he planning to surprise me? My hurtful emotions were now overwhelmed. With a trembling hand, I extended it to him, and he delicately slid the exquisite ring onto my finger.
I gently brushed his hair back, showering kisses on every corner of his face and neck, savoring every drop of his sweat and every inch of his skin, almost devouring him.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry... I'm genuinely sorry for doubting you. Please, never put me through this again, never leave me alone." Holding flowers, I held him in a tight embrace.
"I'll gladly endure it repeatedly if it means being bathed in your love like this," he chuckled, planting a kiss on my hair. "It was supposed to be funny .. right?"
I swiftly withdrew and took hold of his hand. "I-I am sorry, Jungkook," I stammered looking at the cut as I guided him to the kitchen, hastily placing the flowers back on the slab and washing his hand under running cold water.
Retrieving the first-aid box, I carefully examined the cut. Fortunately, it wasn't too deep, but was bleeding considerably.
"Where did you go?" I asked, bandaging his hand.
"Isn't it fun? I was only gone for half an hour to get fresh flowers because I never gave it to you by myself. What if I couldn't predict your move?" He briefed me. I was deeply ashamed and regretful for acting impulsively.
I really need to overcome this. No one had ever taught me the patience to await another's move. My instinct was always to act first, viewing everyone as potential opponents. My dad's cautionary words always echoes in my mind, urging me to be wary of others, warning that they might exploit me.
"Get ready! Tonight is our night." He said excitedly, which made me giggle. "Jungkook, why are you so mysterious and surprising? If not by weapons or fights, one day, I might just get a heart att.."
He didn't let me finish, placing his index finger onto my lips, and reassured me with a gentle hush, "Never entertain such thoughts. I'll confront any danger, mortal or mystical, to keep you safe. I want to stay with you until I can't breathe anymore, and my body gives up on me."
His words were dripping with genuine concern however the mere thought of him leaving me for any reason caused a sharp sting in my heart.
I cupped his face, gazing into his eyes brimming with tears. "You were right when you said I am bound to you. Now, I won't allow you to let go, not in this life or any other. I'll keep coming back, wiping away anyone who tries to separate us. I'll cling to you so tightly that your breaths and body won't give up on you until mine do."
I declared, my words were laced with pure obsession and intense love that I never knew existed. He opened his arm as I slipped into his warm embrace. "So, you're not upset with me for anything I've done to you?" he inquired, gently placing a peck on my crown.
"I was, but you know what? I was more scared than angry. I thought you just wanted to have a child with me.." he quickly retreated, hearing my words.
"Jimin told you this?" He asked, curious. I nodded.
"Yn, why do you believe everything he said? Even if I want a child, what's wrong with that? We are going to start our family soon, a beautiful journey to witness you carrying my bloodline," he reassured me, his words washing away all my doubts.
I questioned myself – why hadn't I asked him about this earlier? Why did I assume he needed to figure things out on his own when he didn't even know he had to? But then again, we never had proper conversations while living in his building; I was too angry to even listen to him. He was often busy and distant.
