CADEN
Nervous, my hands got stuck in my pants pockets while I watch Mad watch the view in front of us.
For a moment she became very quiet, it scares me.
Then she gently took two forward steps.
Her shoulders tense as her hands move to her face or was it mouth? I can't really say because I was standing behind her.
It took her forever to spin and when she did, she's on the verge of tears.
The fuck?
Did I hurt her? Did I do something wrong? I know I would mess up and I probably did, maybe I need to...
"It's so beautiful." It was almost a whisper. But it brought me out of my thought, and her glossy eyes locked with my wide ones.
There was a tear sliding down her cheek when she stepped towards me and leaned against my chest.
It was when I processed everything in detail. Sweet cheese! She likes it.
Smiling, I felt her hands around my midsection, I didn't hesitate to snake my hands around her.
"Hey." I softly called in her hair.
She slowly pulls away and uses the back of her hand to wipe away the tears.
"You like it?" I asked.
A smile tugs on her lips as she turns back to face the view. "I love it." She answered.
Yes!
I mentally pat myself on the back for the simple creative setting I had chosen for the evening.
There were two trees, decorated with string lights from their trunks to the branches and twigs. Lace paper bag lanterns also hanging around the branches.
It was cute.
I snatch her hand in mine and lead her through the rose petals laying all over the ground as she watches in awe while we approach the sea... Yes, my biggest fear.
Told you this meant a lot to me.
I wanted to make our first date memorable, so I couldn't think of anywhere but here even though it includes my fear.
We stopped by a giant heart-shape, developed from numbers of white candles, glowing the very low-size decorated table that is placed in the middle of the enchanting heart-shape, along with two rectangular white leather cushions by each side of the table.
The table is decorated with a floral centerpiece and filled with different types of flowers, red thin candles, and clean napkins.
There were cups and plates neatly organized and two extra blankets, given it was freezing out here.
Beside us was a radio, and the sound of waves from the ocean was hitting louder.
Well, now I know I aced it. I earn that pat on the back.
The food was in a wooden basket, right beside the table. All we needed to do was breathe and enjoy the evening.
Before anything, I turn on the do not disturb feature of my phone and urge Mad to do the same.
We are in New York, having our very first date as a couple; the last thing we need is Dad calling for his selfish reasons.
Settled, we both sat on the soft cushion facing each other.
Mad was so delighted. Her mood is so electrifying.
She grins every often, staring at the sun as it sets below the horizon.
