Hours later, Jennie found herself walking up a steep hill. She kept pondering why their encounter had to be so short.

Twelve hours.

That sounded so wrong. Jisoo and her had undeniable chemistry and the system just decided they were only meant for just twelve hours? It was offensive and it didn't make sense. She thought it tested their compatibility.

She sighed frustratedly and pulled her AI out of her jacket's pocket. "How do I know she wasn't the perfect match for me?" Jennie plopped down on a grassy patch and sighed in exhaustion.

"Your ultimate compatible other has not been selected yet."

"Well, no duh!" Jennie hissed. "But-"

"The system gains insight as each participant progresses through numerous relationships and uses the gathered data to eventually select an ultimate compatible other."

Jennie groaned. "I know, I know, the pairing day and all. You always find your match." She repeated sarcastically. The system was very guaranteed to work. That was what the advertisements and experts said.

"In 99.8% of cases."

"So I gotta.. go through a lot of relationships to find them?"

"That is correct."

"Great, awkward Casanova. Here we go," Jennie spat sarcastically.

The AI dinged again, alerting Jennie of some new information. She raised a brow and swiped across. "Another relationship? Already?"

"That is correct."

Jennie sighed in annoyance and stood up. She stretched her arms and yawned. "Better go get changed then."

Jisoo jogged down the trail near the lake. Her mind was only set on Jennie.

That relationship made no sense whatsoever. It was so clear that there was something.

The system had to be a little flawed. She huffed and stopped running. Jisoo wiped the sweat off her brow and lifted her right arm that had the AI attached to it. "I guess I just don't see the point in something that short," She pouted and grumbled.

"Even your reaction to a brief encounter provides the system with valuable information."

Jisoo stepped to the side after she nearly got knocked over by an oncoming runner. "So the system thinks I'm a prude? I didn't even do anything!"

"The system makes no moral judgements."

"Sure, that's what they all say," Jisoo quipped.

The AI rung suddenly. Jisoo's brows furrowed in confusion. She tilted to her head to the side. "What the heck is that?"

"Another relationship."

"Already!?" Jisoo didn't hide the surprise in her tone. "You don't waste any time, don'tcha?" She picked up a flat rock, much like the size of the AI device from near the lake and flicked her wrist to throw it at the lake. The rock skipped four times, more than Jisoo had ever skipped before. That was nice; she felt proud of herself.

That evening, Jisoo arrived at the same restaurant as the previous night in a blue cocktail dress and black leather jacket. Her dark hair was straightened compared to her normal wavy style. She felt relaxed and confident, but still a little tired.

Jisoo wasn't too thrilled about meeting a new stranger again.

She had a strong inkling that she'd be nothing like Jennie. Or maybe the system picked up on her attraction to her?
