alison watched as her girlfriend tried giving away what compliances she had in her kitchen cupboards to their friends, "mark, callie, what about this?" arizona tapped her hand against the coffee maker, "nah, i'm good,"

"i'll take it," arizona handed over the weird coffee maker towards their orthopaedic attending friend, "i will take that waffle iron though," the man admitted as alison furrowed her eyebrows, "what? i have never seen you eat a waffle,"

she commented, "i would if i had a waffle iron," the plastic surgeon said as alison opened her mouth to disagree, "ali, we're not gonna take a waffle iron to malawi, and it's not gonna do anyone any good sitting in storage for three years," arizona said to her girlfriend when handing their friend the waffle iron.

when arizona turned around, alison leaned closer to mark, "if you break that waffle iron, i will break your legs," she stated to her friend about the waffle iron, "emily loves that waffle iron machine,"

"hey," alison said when seeing arizona about to hand over alison's mother french press, "stop handing over my things," she said to her girlfriend, "and that was my mother's, mark's not getting that," she said taking the french press and walking into their bedroom closing their bedroom door shut behind her.

she paced in her bedroom knowing that her girlfriend didn't mean any harm, just that she was excited to go to malawi especially since alison was going with her even though arizona knew that her girlfriend would much rather stay in seattle than go to africa.

her mind started going back to things her mother used to say to her whenever she met someone new, "if they're not right for you honey, you'll know, don't move somewhere that you're not gonna be comfortable in," her mother's voice said in her mind.

"hey,"

callie came into her best friend's bedroom closing the door behind her, "ready for the big move?" alison hummed and that's when callie knew her friend wasn't ready, "it's ok not to be ready for the move, al, it's a big step," the orthopaedic attending said, "i just— i want to do this for arizona, for everything that she did for me when i was in the hospital,"

callie came to her pacing friend, "she wouldn't want you to be miserable about the move, al," her superior finally looked at her, "do you think i should go? to malawi with her?"

"i mean— if you love her, i think you should tell her the truth, rather then be all pretend excited about the malawi move," alison sighed twirling her hair between her fingers, "she's said it before, long distance relationship don't work, they're hard, i don't—i don't want to break up,"

callie frowned bringing her clearly upset friend into her arms, "you need to make the decision before you go, alison, this house is still gonna be here when you go if you do decided to go," callie commented to her friend.
