"Hel—"

Alison stopped when she saw Zola's hair that was messy, "Hi, Derek." She smiled as she wheeled the pram, "Is Meredith out sick today or—" She asked her friend, "She came in early to study with Callie. Why?"

Her eyes went to Zola's hair again, "Um, no, no reason." She shakes her head, "It's just that she usually drops Zola off, so—" She stated, looking in between Zola's hair and Derek's face.

"Bye, bye." She kissed her daughters' heads, handing the pram over to the daycare worker who smiled at the orthopaedic surgeon.

____

"It was a fiasco."

Teddy Altman explained to the lesbian married couple as she walked alongside them, "Oh, it couldn't have been that bad." Alison stated, looking at the blonde cardio surgeon, "It was precisely that bad."

"No, but it's stem cells. It's the future." Arizona tried, "I mean, they know that." She told their friend, "No, it's dead, just like my husband, who is also dead." Alison frowned at Teddy's words, "There's a theme here, you noticing?"'

Alison sighed, "Teddy."

The blonde surgeon shook her head, "Whatever. I don't care. The nice part about having a dead husband is that you stop caring about anything at all." Teddy told the two, "You should ask Owen to put in a good word. The Chief of surgery can have a lot of pills in these decisions."

Teddy shakes her head, "I don't talk to Owen Hunt." She said before walking away from them, "I'm needed in there." Alison explained, motioning to the trauma room where Owen Hunt was.

"Bye." Arizona kissed her wife's cheek with a smile.

Alison came into the room, putting on rubber gloves, "Excuse me, Grey. I need to get in there," Alison stated, coming to their shared patient, Devin, "Okay, Devin, we are gonna give you some pain meds." Meredith explained when Alison moved the bandage from Devin's arm, "And we're gonna put a tube in your chest that will drain the blood, and you will start to feel better." Meredith explained to their patient.

"I just ran into Teddy." Alison said, looking at Owen Hunt, "She said that she blew her pitch to the board this morning, it might be nice, if you backed her up, you know?" She told the Chief, "Put in a good word."

Alison held the man's hand, "Pulse is faint in the left. I need a CT angio." She told Meredith who nods her head, "Okay, Devin, once we get this tube in, we're gonna take you to CT. Do you have any family we can contact?"

"My parents are old. I don't want to worry them." Devin admitted, as he looked at them, "If you could just let Angie know I'm okay." He told them, "She's probably worried."

Alison looked at Devin, "Who's Angie?" Meredith looked at the superior, "Angie's the barista. In the other trauma room," Alison nods her head at that, "Ok."

____

Alison was texting her wife, "I got it." Teddy Altman popped her head into the room where Alison was, "Got what?"

"The grant." Teddy said as Alison smiled at her friend, "Four million to grow hearts from stem cells." Teddy said as Alison stands up, pocketing her phone into her lab coat, "You got it?"

"I'm gonna grow hearts." Alison smiled, embracing her blonde headed friend, "Can you believe it?" Alison smiled, hoping that Owen had done it so that the two can go back to being friends, "Oh, god. Teddy, that's amazing." She spoke, "I must have not done as bad as I thought this morning unless or I charmed them with my fumbling desperation. I-I have no idea. I don't care, I got it."

"I'm so happy for you, Teddy." She told her friend, looking at Teddy with a kind smile, hugging her friend again in her arms.

____

Alison was in the OR alongside Meredith, Cristina and Teddy, "Did you all hear that Dr Altman got a huge grant for her stem cell research?" She questioned, as she wasn't sat on a stool, "I did, congratulations, Dr Altman." Owen Hunt said.

"Thank you." Teddy said, looking away from the patient.

"I head that Dr Silverman at Wake Forest has been doing great work in stem cells. Maybe you should give her a call—" Owen said when Teddy stopped him, "If I wanted your advice on my speciality, Dr Hunt, I'll ask." Teddy rudely spoke.

Alison looked where Owen had stood, as Alison looked back at Devin, "Once Teddy's done with the lung, you can get at the other arm to get out the remaining shrapnel." She told Owen, who nods his head at that, "All right. Okay."

He goes and stands next to Teddy Altman, "Here. I'll help you finish." Owen said, "I've got it." Teddy claimed as Owen shook his head, "No, no, it'd beadier—"

"I said I've got it. Now back the hell off." Teddy said, looking at Owen.

Cristina, Meredith and Alison all shared knowing looks at the tension between Teddy and Owen after Henry's death.

____

"Hunt! Owen!"

Alison followed after the Chief of Surgery up the stairs to where Owen had tried to walk fast up the stairs where Alison had caught up with him, "You got her the grant money." She spoke with a smile, "I know you did. You have to tell her. It'll help things between you guys."

"No, it won't." Owen stated, "All right, then I'll tell her." She said, looking at her chief of surgery, "No, you won't." Hunt said, stopping the chief of orthopaedic surgery, "You can't let her treat you this way. When Henry died, you were just doing your job. You're not a bad guy." She said.

Owen scoffed, looking out to the hospital back to his friend, "How do you know?" Alison gave him a look, "Look—sometimes, you just lash out. It might not be rational or fair, but you do it cause you have to." Owen said to Alison who crossed her arms over her chest, "If she needs me for that, if she needs a punching bag, a bad guy to point the finger at and help her cope, then let that be me."

"Fine," Alison let out, "You can be a martyr, but you still have to be the Chief. And what happened in that OR today, that should never happen again." She explained to the chief, before walking away from Owen.
