"Are all senior guardians present?" tanong ni propesor Widwick sa lahat. All the Seniors raised their hands as to answer the professor's question, including Cyan and Klaude. Students in the same class are now standing along side their guardians outside the gates of Alquia. "Each of you must return within four hours with complete materials in hand," pagtutuloy ng propesor. "Those who'll arrive late will receive a failing mark." Sukat sa narinig ay napangiwi ang karamihan sa mga kaklase ko.
We are instructed by the terror professor to venture out the school grounds and personally gather the ingredients that are essential to make some sort of potion, given that we are accompanied by our senior guardians. Napansin ko ang pagngiti ni Chartreuse kay Cyan na bahagya lang tinanguan ng huli.
"Now go!" Iyon lang at sunod-sunod na nag-alisan ang ilang mga senior kasama ang apprentice nila. Some used different kinds of spells to run in unbelievable speed, while some, summoned beasts from the forest to serve as their ride.
"See you later, Adi!" paalam ni Klaude bago binuhat si Chartreuse at mataas na tumalon palayo.
"We should get going."
Wala akong isinagot. Masama pa rin ang loob ko sa ginawa niyang pang-iiwan kailan lang. Sama ng loob na alam kong hindi niya mararamdaman o mapapansin dahil wala naman siyang pakialam sa paligid niya. He's still acting like the usual.
As soon as Cyan started chanting a spell, white wings sprouted out of his back. "I'll carry you," giit niya kasabay nang pagluhod sa isang paa.
Naglilimang-isip man nang sinenyasan niya 'kong sumampa sa likod niya, ay sumunod na lang din ako. Wala naman akong karapatang magtampo. With my hands clinging on his neck, we skyrocketed to the sky. The view of the glittering lake, and vast forest surrounding the castle was breathtaking. It was amazing yet, it wasn't enough to lift my spirit.
"What's the first thing on the list?" tanong niya habang nasa ere pa rin kami.
"A Jiggly soot, what ever that is."
"Kumapit kang mabuti," utos niya bago sinadyang mabilis na bumulusok pababa.
I can feel my heart and soul getting left behind! I would've screamed like a siren if I didn't mind him hearing me. Mayamaya'y walang kahira-hirap niyang pinabagal ang aming pagbagsak. His wings immediately vanished after our safe landing.
"See those tiny pinkish creatures bouncing everywhere," tukoy niya sa mga nilalang na nagkalat sa paligid. Tinitigan ko naman ang mga 'yon nang mabuti. They were round, bouncy, fluffy balls of whatever that are jumping all over this part of the forest. "Catch this." Bigla siyang nagbato ng maliit na garapon.
"H'wag ka nang magsalita," pangunguna ko. "I already know what you're going to say anyway."
Hindi na nga 'to sumagot pa, sa halip ay naupo na lang siya sa ilalim ng isang mayabong na puno.
